They've almost phased them out at this point and they've done alright so far. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing when you consider the weight of test scores these days and the emphasis on common core content now.
I think if we see any kind of shortage in the future it's going to be due to some larger issues but that's another thread for another time.

From the most current undergrad bulletin (p. 49):
quote: Residence Hour Requirements To become eligible for a bachelor’s degree at The University of Southern Mississippi, a student must: a. earn his or her last 25 percent of course work from The University of Southern Mississippi. This policy applies to all students, including transfer students from other colleges and universities.

I'm a teacher.. I went through altcert..... U have to have a degree before u can enroll in altcert... As well as at least pass praxis 1.... U then get a job teaching and have three years to complete certification....hard thing right now is the state has to cut a bunch of $$..... Some altcert programs have been cut completely.. It's also difficult to get a teaching job uncertified right now... One of the first questions a principal will ask is are you certified? You just have to pray that no one certified is applying for the same job.. Check out teachlouisiana.net
