"I didnt know i was making a point with them being a top 5 program that suddenly fell off because of LSU."
You made mention to the fact that A&M hasn't been the same since Saban arrived at LSU, yet if you look at the numbers, A&M really hasn't had any less top 5 finishes than they normally do.
"With that said, if you really going to tell me that A&M wasnt a good football program and with the right person in there a top 25 program then idk what to tell you'
I don't necessarily agree with you. When has A&M ever truly had the "right guy in there?" You could consider Bear Bryant was the last excellent coach at A&M, but the program has literally done nothing in the past 70 years.

What the frick does that have to do with anything I said?
You tried to degrade Chris Leak's ability.

They will.

Do you understand the concept of context clues? If he said they can't be a top 5 program without Tebow as the guy, and I counter by saying that they were with a guy who was not Tim Tebow, how is that discounting Leak?

They'll have a 2007 like season, then bounce back and compete for an SEC title.

That's the point I'm making. He sustained the program, but if LSU got raped three times, you could argue that the program was going down a bit.
I wouldn't expect him to bring a 13-1 season every year, but the fact that Saban couldn't reach 10 wins, no matter how close he was, showed that the prior year's success was not sustained as well as you think.
Let's put it this way. Which situation would you consider a program that has sustained success?
A: 8-4, 10-3, 8-5, 13-1, 9-3
B: 11-2, 11-2, 12-2, 8-5, 11-2*

Dude, do you not know anything about college football?..thats ridiculous...go to the a&m website, and see their history records since 90-01...you obviously dont have a clue...oh and notice when they dropped in record, notice when LSU rose up...then get back to me k...great

That is of course if all things were equal. Anyone with a brain knows that Saban actually built a program, whereas Les had one gift wrapped.

If you believe Meyer can simply plug in another QB into his "System", and expect Leak/Tebow type results, you will be disappointed.

They've recruited well, so I can see them competing once again for the SEC East Title, at some point, but they're going to take a big hit next year.

Fact: Saban built the foundation for LSU
Fact: Miles brought the program into greater prominence
This isn't a "Who's the Better Coach" argument. It's not a "Who had the Better Talent" argument. It's a matter of who is able to consistently maintain the same level of production from one year to the next. Saban was never able to follow up his "great" seasons with "good" ones. Miles has failed to do so once.

their going to have to...They will lose a lot of guys to the draft..with tebow gone, they will lose top jr.s and rs. soph and rebuild next year..Thats the reason of my OP that they have to take a slide..I also, dont see meyer staying which i took into account..

Well he's 3/3 with his last three primary QBs (Smith/Leak/Tebow), and Brantley has received nothing by rave reviews for his talent.

They'll be the best team in the East unless Tennessee puts it all together.

Disagree. He has won the same amount of BCS bowls, SEC titles, and National titles as Saban. He has never had a season as good as Saban's best, but his season last year was arguably worse than any Saban season.

2008 Bama - undefeated in the SEC
2009 Bama - national title contender

LSU - in recent history, we have done well when we bring in a top recruiting class (we usually have 2 bcs bowls per)
USC - with barkley they have to be in the discussion
Florida - they have too many athletes not to
Miami - randy shannon keeps the U climbing back
Bama - McElroy will keep getting better and saban is a damn good recruiter
OU/UT - IMHO both take steps back when Bradford/McCoy leave

And he's earned those same titles in one year less than Saban did it. Yes, he's never had a season as good as Saban's best. If it's arguable, then I don't see why you felt the need to mention it.

It's common sense that says that 9/10 times if you go undefeated in the SEC, you're going to be a NC contender the next year. And this doesn't recant what I said. Saban has yet to follow up the great season with a good one. There are still several games left on the schedule, as I remember.

if LSU had a HC worth 2 fricks, we would have never lost 5 games last year or be so pathetic on offense this year.

A Few Elite 5* OL, not high 4*, but 5* top fifteen national OLers would go along way into helping LSU's future four years.
As this staff's OL evaluation, retention, and development, has been questionable at best, especially when led by a former Michigan Schembechler Guard..as the inherited stars recruited by NS were the LM era's best..even if their seniority came on his watch.

Hardest position to recruit/evaluate, but i think some of our younger linemen are going to turnout as beasts.

He also has Three 11+ win seasons. Saban has a 10 win season & a 13 win season. Look in the LSU Football history archives.

2008 - Definately defeated by Florida of the SEC. Followed by a blowout loss to lilly white Utah.
..and he doesn't coach at LSU.
