I had to clean it up a little before posting it here but glad you checked it out already.
Gonna be moving hosts before hurricane season, so I can get ads up and use wordpress. For now though, just getting better at cranking posts out quickly and maybe grab a few readers with the severe weather to come.

Nice, I've followed your posts on weather for a while now. Meteorologist or hobbyist?

Thanks for the site Boat. I’m book marking now.

Meteorologist, though just for that blog for now. Had a couple of interviews but no bites yet.
So just working on getting better in between running around after my daughter all day.

I'll give you the same advice I gave Boat.....wipe your OT post history. Burn it.

I will use a quote from Duke to make a point about this time of year.
This is an overnight/early morning event. The absolute best way to get warnings during those hours of the night is a NOAA weather radio. Stop by Academy or somewhere tomorrow and pick one up if you don't already have one. If you do have one already, plug the damn thing in. I know they can be annoying, but they are the best bet for a nocturnal severe weather setup.

There will be a window for tornado potential before and around sunrise, so have a way to receive warnings especially if you’re east of the 10/12 split.

Nice find.

Sure is a nice find!
Those storms tomorrow night could make a run at that record if soundings from the 00z HRRR have anything to say about it.

8 C/km lapse rates from 700-500 mb on the Northshore...what is this north Texas?
For around NOLA, the HRRR chose violence tonight. Don't like that one bit. Though, the HRRR and the rest of the CAMs are killing storms as they enter the NOLA metro. Which is interesting, since the buoyancy is there. Curious

One sounding I pulled from the general NOLA area had SBCAPE over 2,000 with 71°/69° at around 7 or 8AM. STP cranked up a bit on the 00z HRRR. The Supercell Composite did as well. Just to the West of NOLA could get hairy. Semi-discreet cells during the morning drive with those parameters. I'd definitely delay going in by a couple hours if I could.
