Bars to watch CWS game in Houston?

Posted by ATShawa on 6/16/23 at 11:01 am
I will be in Houston this weekend to catch an Astros game and was wondering if there were any good places someone could recommend to go and watch the game. Looking for more of a dive/local bar; trying to avoid BWW's, Walk-ons, Hooters, etc.
Its threads like this that make me truly amazed at how much time people waste talking about things they have absolutely zero control over.

The majority of posters here are a bunch of whiny arse-clowns.
CottonWasKing, its people like you who bring me amusement with how zealous you are about our program and the lengths you go to be right.

Yall keep up the drama, this shite is better than paying for MTV. Sheep will be sheep. Peace out simpletons.

Scheduling changes in the future?

With the advent of the CFP and the setup of the committee do you think that in the coming years we will no longer play teams like Sam Houston St., UAB, North Texas, Eastern Michigan? With all the talk of autonomy and how much strength of schedule will play in selection it seems to make sense that we will sign more formidable opponents. I want to know what teams yall think we will play. Please keep your negative posts about attendance and such contained in the plethora of shitty threads that are already located on this board.

re: Raid in Lake Charles on smoke shop?

Just saw on the news they got busted for selling synthetic urine. I guess they're gonna go bust vita-mart and every gas station that sells that shite too. Such a great way to allocate our resources. Go bust some crack dealers or meth cookers.
That place hasn't been open that long, they prolly hired a bunch of stoners who ran their mouth too much and just got pinched. But who knows they might have been cooking meth.  John Derossier, Tony Mancuso, and Don Dixon are all a bunch of crooks; all they care about is making a little bit of money to buy another plane.
Heard that they got raided but they just got charged with minor possession charges. I'm sure it'll be on KPLC tomorrow.

Scooter Hobbs sports column

Posted by ATShawa on 4/8/14 at 11:21 am
Has anyone else out there ever took the time out of their day to read the column of Scooter Hobbs? He writes for the American Press here in Lake Charles but I'm sure his articles can be found elsewhere. Quite often it seems that he makes fun of and mocks the LSU program and coaching staff. It's almost as if he has a disdain for LSU in some way. I see him eating lunch at Pappy's and OB's all the time but I've never talked to him cause he gives off the vibe of being a first rate a-hole. I was just wondering what you all had to say about his column and opinions.

I was implying that it would be a waste of time and money as they should be able to beat Mcneese. A game in Alex Box is worth 45 bucks for sure but I would much rather see a more formidable opponent. I bought standing tickets for the Super Regional last year and ended up sitting right behind the dugout cause so many people left due to the "storm".

5 bucks for a ticket plus 40 bucks in gas. I'd rather save the money and go to the Spring Game this weekend.

I'm pretty sure we can get a ticket for away football games but I've never looked into baseball. Maybe I would have to go through the box office here.

Couldn't find any buddies to make the trip from LC and back. JW, would I have been able to get a free ticket with my McNeese student ID?
Thank you very much, have a great day.

Ticket prices

Has anyone one else looked around for tickets to the last couple of home games? They are ridiculously outrageous. I can understand wanting to get back what you put in but asking 150 for tickets to watch Arkansas, who has yet to win an SEC game, is atrocious. I understand it's the last Friday meeting for the 2 teams but cut me some slack. And the tickets are just as high if not higher for the A&M game than they were for the Bama game last year. I know that tickets can be bought on game day for a much lower price, that's usually how I obtain my tickets. But some people aren't the gambling type and would like to get decent tickets for a decent price before traveling a couple hours to see a game. I'm not getting into the argument of empty seats and complaining fans about gameday experience, just making an observation. Geaux Tigers!

I concur with the entirety of your post    :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:
