I was at the game. Second no-hitter I saw in person. The other was the Zephyrs' Brian Powell. I won't compare the two because they were totally different, but both were special. This was a 9-0 game, while Powell's was 2-0. Absolutely unbelievable feat and awesome for him, especially when you realize the last SLU no-hitter was 1979. Just an awesome day. He had the fastball and curveball working well and he was effectively wild. He did a nice job of keeping the hitters off balanaced. There were two fair balls hit hard, one to center and the other to right. There was a long foul ball caught in the left field corner.
The other part of the game that normally wouldn't be a subplot was that Aaron Haag drove in 7 runs. He hit the heck out of the ball. Two feats you'd be thrilled to see once in a lifetime both happened in the same game.
Just a great day at SLU yesterday.
