I don't have the MOJO mallard maching, but I made a few motion decoys last season that worked pretty well. I used a duck but and attatched a bilge pump to the bottom with pvc on the discharge to make the bubbles/ripples. Made a water proof box to hold the battery. All hard wired, plug it in and go.
I almost got stuck out there as well while scouting with my go-devil. Good thing I brought my waders with me. I stepped out the boat to push through the mud to turn around and head back to the launch. Sunk about nuts deep in mud in that particular spot. Maybe this rain we're getting today and whats forcasted will help out to access it for the 2nd split.
definitly a good call to discuss this information in email. About 5 years ago, Sherburne used to be the place to go. It was as if no one knew about the place. You could walk in, find a spot, and get your limit easily on most days. Now with all the new hunters out there and forums like louisiana sportsman and this one, people continue to post their pics an freely tell where they hunt. Now you go, it is almost impossible to walk in to a decent spot because there are so many people out there with their boats and they conveniently launch before 4am which is the legal time for entry on the wma.
Sorry for the rant, but the moral is to keep your hunting spots to yourself or you will end up with new hunters right on top of you or being screwed on hunting your honey hole.
