Could someone help me ID these tiny bugs on my kitchen window? Outside they are all over the wall and some are getting inside. Sorry for the poor picture quality. It was impossible to get my phone to focus on them. I think I saw a couple of them jump but I'm not 100%.
I've been hitting the outside wall with bifenthrin but it doesn't seem to be helping.
Edit: I'm having issues with Imgur. LINK

re: How much would having a pension keep you at your current job.

3 years to be vested in ours. They put in 5% in the first 15 years and 7% after that. We also have a 401K matching up to 5%(1% mandatory and the other 4% if the company is profitable).
I think I used to work with you. This retirement plan sounds very familiar. I've since left the company and tried to roll my pension balance over, but no es bueno. Have to wait until I'm 59. It was kind of funny setting that google reminder.
Pensions are nice to have, but its just another part of the compensation package to consider.

I'd plan for 12 hours (including resting in the cooler). If it finishes early just leave it in the cooler until you're ready to serve.

I'm taking the mechanical thermo and fluids option. Just ready to get it over with.
re: 401k with 4% Company match?

Not bad, but definitely not great. I know of a few companies that match 10%.

I am a Gr 5 then. They did offer a signing bonus. I am starting to feel like I asked for too little salary wise.
I know about the 0% 401k for the first year, but the 401k match is nice after 10 years.

I was forced to give a number in the online application. They gave a little extra in the offer though. So I probably won't get much salary wise.
How will I know if I'm Gr 4 or Gr 5?

Offer is from Shell.
I'm going to try and get another week of vacation. I was really looking forward to that 3rd week.

Its pretty solid compared to my current salary (+18% and signing bonus), but I don't want to leave anything on the table. Benefits are comparable to my current company. The only downside that I see so far is that I am about to earn a 3rd week of vacation and I would be going back to two.
salary negotiations

I just received offer for an engineering role with a large oil and gas company. Initially it looks pretty decent on the surface, but I will read more into it tonight. My question is, if I feel I could do better how do I go about countering or negotiating a better deal without screwing anything up? What have some of you done in the past?
The word "engineer" in a job title is overused for people with no technical background and I find it has become essentially meaningless.

This is what confuses me, the plan I am looking at has 100% coverage of everything after deductible is met, but still lists a $3000 OOP max.
Oh, then I don't know

Your insurance may have an 80% coverage 20% co insurance amount after the deductible. I think this means that you would pay 20% of the amount of each service until you hit $3000 maximum for the year. Read the policy and see what your co insurance is.

No doubt it would be a challenge and stressful, but where I am now is not challenging, but still stressful at times. The most stressful part is wanting to make a difference, but any effort will likely be a waste of energy.
I think we all understand this, but your question should be "how am I going to provide for my family while I am starting this business?". If your wife makes enough or you have the money stashed away then go for it. Otherwise you may need to bring the boat closer to the dock before you make the leap.

How many "UL-L-Breaux Bridge engineering program is better" posts have there been?
I don't think anyone has said that, but I did say that it shouldn't be implied that ULL engineering is easier than LSU. I would think the two are on par with each other, but I can only speak for mechanical.

And how do you know engineering classes at ULL are easier? I know I'm biased because I went there, but MCHE at ULL wasn't a cake walk.
I am working through Lindeburgs Practice problem book, but how do the actual test questions compare to his book? Most of them would be tough to finish in 6 min.
Mechanical Engineer PE Test

I know this doesn't pertain to money, but are there any professional engineers on this board that can give me some advice on how and what to study for the test?
