Have heard talk here in Cenla that he has been spotted in Football locker room and enrolled in classes?

Also in Cenla and have same problem on my field with Pantera. When ordering it, I spoke directly to sales rep and he informed me that seed production this year was bad. I have fertilized it and still have poor results.
The lack of rain, heat and then temps in 20s last week have really stunted mine bad. Think I’m going to spread some field run rye and just roll with it. Have talked to many other coaches in our area and everyone saying same thing.
Positive is that I’m not mowing every other day!

Oakwing Update
Greens have improved tremendously in last 3 weeks. Abt 95% back and thick to the point of needing to be cut and rolled. I guess they being very careful with the Deep South 4Ball coming up.
Fairways still in best shape in years, bunkers were playable but still need some love.
Was skeptical when heading out there today and pleasantly surprised with the conditions after the round. Should be in great shape in week or two.

Fairways and tee boxes have never been better at Oakwing. That being said, greens have never been worse.
Links on the Bayou one of the best courses in the State that people don't know about. Always in excellent condition. City of Alexandria should be promoting and advertising it statewide to get it the recognition it deserves.
Cheating in LHSAA Coaches Tournament. Not surprised

Copper Mill Saturday
The Island Sunday
Greystone Monday
Are these courses in good shape? Coming in from out of town for LHSAA Convention.
Would this School be in Cenla area?
No way a random concerned neighbor calls in abt 2 cars in parking lot at 8:30. No way random cop pulls up and figures this must be a teacher/student meet up. Somebody was talking/jealous and snitched.

In terms of fairness, what is fair abt schools with town populations like Many (2700), Bunkie (4,000), Winnfield (5800), Kinder (2500) with every single available kid going to their school having to play Privates in BR (230,000), NO (380,000), Shreveport (200,000), where the 2A schools in those places can choose who goes to school and can control their size??

Ghost I know a lot more abt high school sports than 90% of people on this board. I guarantee you 50% of HS school athletes couldn't tell you who is in their District if you asked them on the spot. If you think a kid in BR/ NO knows where Oak Grove/Lasalle/EastBeau/etc are located much less what Class they are in then you are wrong. A kid in Jonesvill has no idea abt how good Jesuit/Brother Martin/Rummel are and also has no idea where they are located.

SID Privates keep saying it comes down to money the Publics want in regular season games, wrong. Take Peabody in Alexandria for example, Football games draw abt 200 home fans Total with band/cheerleaders. Go to a Basketball games when they play anybody good/bad and the gym is sold out 1500. It comes to winning, if you win people show up, it not nobody is going, I don't care whether it's Public/Private.

Panther you get it. That's what I am trying to get across, it doesn't matter one bit to the kids. Majority of high school athletes couldn't tell you the teams in their District let alone in their Class or whether they are Select/NonSelect.
Ghost less than 5% of high school athletes play at next level, and of those only the select few get an offer to play SEC.
Privates want to play Publics then do it in regular season. I looked at some schedules for Private schools and most play other Privates out of District. Only Publics they play are in District.

I just don't understand why Selects are mad and want to leave? They are getting everything now that they say they want to leave for?
If it was really abt competition, divide Football in 5 classes. At end of season take Top 8 teams by Power Ranking in the state from any class and make a Super Bracket Champion. Once those teams are removed, seed 5 Classes and they play for Class Championships, Top 8 play for State Champion.
Do it for all sports.

Amendments and Proposals can be presented and voted on at LHSAA Jan Convention. They can present it and see if what happens?

After reading through the other 2 threads, it is very evident that the Select posters seemed to think that they were being kicked out of the LHSAA but by these numbers it looks like they got a pretty good deal.
They talk abt leaving the LHSAA and forming their own Association but why?? Everything they say they want is in this Association, they can play all the "Good" Publics they want in regular season and then get to play all the Privates is the Playoffs. (If they leave LHSAA,they say all Privates going with them, but LHSAA member schools won't be able to play them.)
Let's just say every Select school in the State leaves LHSAA and they take another 20 that's 95 teams in Football, divide that by 4 classes it's 23 teams per class. Staying in LHSAA is better option.
Truth be told Selects don't want to have to play Notre Dame, Calvary, Evangel, STM, St Charles, Parkview Baptist, Teurlings, Univ Lab, when they have once in a Decade team that is really good and they meet one of these teams in 2nd/3rd Rd. No different than why NonSelects voted for split in first place, they don't want to play them either.

LHSAA Truth in Numbers

A lot of misconceptions abt fairness and who (Select/NonSelect) gets better end of deal after the vote for splitting State Titles at end of season. These are the real numbers, look at them and let's hear what you think. NonSelect (Public) Select (Private/Magnet/Charter)
Total Schools in LHSAA - 390. 274 NonSelect. 116 Select
Total Football schools - 293. 218 NonSelect. 75 Select
Total Baseball/Basketball - 390. 273 NonSelect. 117 Select
In regards to winning a State Championship in Football
218 schools 5 Titles = 1 in 43 NonSelect
75 schools 4 Titles = 1 in 18 Select
In regards to winning State Championship in Baseball/ Basketball
273 schools 7 Titles = 1 in 39 NonSelect
117 schools 5 Titles = 1 in 23 Select
****The Baseball/Basketball slightly skewed due to Some smaller schools not having Baseball and taking into account All Girl schools. Don't have official list of all schools these are the numbers posted on LHSAA website.
****Going by Kenramsey Power Rankings Boys Basketball 375 schools Baseball 338.
Before giving my opinion on this information I would like for you to look at it and give yours.
---------In before TLDR, Wall of Text
It will be much like it is today probably with new Commissioner. Nobody will have left the Association as some here have predicted. Class B and C will probably be together (which they should). There will be 5 football classes and 6 other sport classes. Will still have Select/NonSelect Titles in each class.
Rantards will still want to Fire Miles and PM.
1. It is already a rule that member schools cannot play in state schools not is LHSAA. You can play out of state schools in Tournaments that don't count on your record.
2. Already approved and voted through twice.
3. Publics don't choose their districts either.
Big catfish you are correct. Class B and C does not make up 56% of the vote that voted for split. If I am correct I think there are only abt 60 schools combined in B and C. Of those, abt 15 are Private/Select.
The schools that pushed this split are the 1A-3A schools. That is where most of your Private/Select schools play. Look at 1A, it's majority Private/Select. 2A abt 50%.
LHSAA school will not be allowed to play teams in Louisiana not in LHSAA. What you want is already in effect now because of split. Private schools can play regular season against whoever they want in regular season then once playoffs start they will be in same division. Look at 5A Select bracket.
So 12-15 schools get together and play a 12 week season then play same 12 teams again in Playoffs?
I am NOT for the split, but instead of everyone bashing it, embrace it. In the end what does it really matter if they give out 5 more State Titles than they used to have??

re: Another LHSAA vote coming Wednesday

Posted by GGShin on 6/9/16 at 1:11 pm to
I guess I don't understand, I don't understand what it is Privates are suddenly all upset about. Nobody voted to kick Privates out LHSAA they voted to give Privates their OWN State Title (Best Private in your Class) and now Publics have their own State Tile.
Like I said previously it waters down the competition when it comes to Playoffs but I guarantee you no athlete is going to throw their State Championship Ring away because they felt the competition wasn't any good. The Private school complainers in this thread are complaining abt things that won't affect them. Who cares abt Publics if you go to Privates, that's why you send your kids there anyway. All I am saying is that if Privates actually leave LHSAA they will be the ones to suffer. LHSAA schools would not be allowed to play them, and unless you could get more than 150 schools to leave with you it would be hard to manage game schedules and classifications that are fair to everyone.
