frick what raves were you going to?

In the summer i would fly over to cali and stay with some good ole friends, they were big in the rave scene, we went to a lot of crazy ones.

i also went to the State Palace raves in 1996-2000

Damn, thats when NOLA was just fricking awesome. during mardi gras, one of raves were just soo awesome.

I went to france, (some family lives there) and my cousin is also a raver, he showed me the european scene, and it was awesome.

raves are called Free Parties there... I remeber my cousin being part of the rave club, basically promoters who set up and through the party.

him working with the doors:

i dont like skrillex, but he is a talented producer proof: look at his success, do not tell me he is a horrible producer, then people would not dig his shite.

In my opinion dubstep > house/trance. Shits way too boring for me, i need more variation in my music than the same fist pumping beat for 5 minutes

You, my friend must not know what real dubstep is or just has little knowledge on House or Trance.

Do you realize House has hundreds of sub genres, and Trance rules the world, specially in Europe.

Dubstep is a new trend of a bunch wannabe ravers, they think its sooo fricking good because the drop and the random sounds in the middle of the song.

Most dubstep djs, suck a djing, Skrillex is the example of a person who pushes buttons. rarely do i see a good dubstep dj.

For People who say it is not hard to make edm. true, it isnt, but thats the same for rock rap etc,

Its hard to make good electronic dance music, some of the producers are not very talented, but some are very. Pretty Lights, Armin Van Buuren, Skrillex (debatable, but he isnt horrible), Tiesto, i can go on.

quote:

lol im pretty sure drugs and douche bags have been around the edm scene long before dubstep

yeah there were always guidos but dubstep really brought of influx of bros and douchebag.. dubstep is really what attracted them.

they come to scene and they say stupid arse shite and think every type of edm is dubstep.

Drugs:

Yeah drugs have always been around but a lot people dont do drugs at raves, with the influx of posers and douchebags they make genre only listenable if you under the influence of drugs... its sad. so screw dubstep, 90% shite 10% good props on Burial

remeber going to real raves in 2001 and i never saw bros or douchebags who were rolling on bunk pills, claiming they were the best shite in town.
you would consider me a raver..

but i grew up with alot techno house and trance music not dubstep....

It does take skill to make it, you have to have skill.

As much as i hate skrillex he is talented, this dude worked with the doors on a song.

by saying that it is not hard to make, just discredits this whole rant.
i mean whats the difference between plucking a string and press a button.. yeah this a difference they are both hard.

But yeah agreed, dubstep has ruined edm scene, it brought drugs and douchebags and big corporations. its like rap, shite was good in the early years hit a peak and then turned to shite music.

Dubstep is in that peak phase and going down. 90% dubstep sucks, some of it is good,
