Tinker Hatfield and Phil Knight. It was fun when Boise State fans complained about it in the CBI last year but yeah the courts fricking ugly. On the plus side we have a visible mid-court line this year...

If we are talking about ridiculously over the top amenities for college basketball arenas, Matthew Knight Arena has to be in the discussion.

First and foremost I'm not an alter just level-headed.

Second, top coaches such as Saban, Miles, and to a lesser extent Stoops have revived programs (OU fans still disavow the 90's) and won championships. They have built their programs and have produced results on the field, not in the imaginations of fans.

Coach Kelly, as much as you could picture him building an incredible program from the ground up, has been fortunate as a head coach to fall into the situation that he has. He got lucky enough to be hired to head a consistent winner and as such needs to be judged on more results than just three years worth. Can he sustain it? Hopefully. But maybe he pulls a Tedford by elevating a program to new heights and then settling back into mediocrity. Its still too soon to tell, but the future certainly looks bright for him.

Ducksfly, I'm duck fan and I think your being a bit myopic. Kelly inherited a very decent team from Bellotti and has been a head coach for only three years. He has absolutely no track record of turning around a program. And the same could be said about Peterson. He inherited a good team from Hawkins, who in turn inherited a solid program from Koetter. In order for Peterson to truly be considered elite, he needs to take the plunge and accept a job at a high profile school (and hope he has a better track record than his former bosses).
