Obvious husky fan here. I plan on attending the game next year in LA.

First, you guys should beat us, and handily. You are more talented than us, and frankly, better coached. Sarkisian is a great offensive play caller, but I haven't been impressed with his recruiting and ability to hire a competent D-Coordinator.

As you saw from the Baylor game, our defense is putrid, primarily because we have the worst d-coordinator in the country-Nick Holt. He's the clown on the sideline with grandma glasses and is screaming all the time. He is also the highest paid assistant in the Pac-10, which is unbelievable. If we fire him, then maybe you won't score 50 on us, but he's a Sark buddy.

On the defensive side of the ball we are pretty lean. Our best player is our Freshman safety, Sean Parker (#1). He was a 4-5 star, and turned down USC for us. He's a beast.

On offense, we're pretty loaded. Price is obviously a stud (And better than Locker, a top 10 NFL pick) Polk is a JR, but he'll probably go pro. But we are pretty deep at RB. Collier will probably be the starting RB-a very fast player. We have the best freshman TE in the country IMHO, Sefarian-Jenkins, who was a 5 star recruit (turned down Texas because they wanted him to be a tackle). We are also deep at WR, with Kasen Williams, a Freshman 5 star (and some pubs had him as #1 WR in nation in H.S.). Now that some seniors are graduating, he'll be the go to guy.

We can score on anyone IMHO, but our defense is just so bad that it is hopeless.

I say you're a race-baiting troll.

Less than 2% of my post had anything to do with race. And again, I said, "SOME" people are driven by it. It was by no means an indictment on all, or even a majority of LSU fans..

As for "pot calling kettle", I'm not saying you can't critique a player. Locker and Stanback (two former running QB we've had) were dissected and their weaknesses were exposed at length. Sure, a ton of us said, "dang..what a bone headed decisions".

With that said, we didn't hope they fail, disavow them as Huskies, etc., which appears to go on here. Stanbach moved to WR in the NFL and we are always rooting for him. People were estatic that JAke was drafted #8 (though we all understand that out of all the QBs, he needs the most time --he ran a wing-T offense in H.S. and it showed in college).

Anyways....back to other things. I'm looking forward to heading down to LA next year. And I hope you guys kick Bama's arse.
Guys, I'm not some PNW liberal poster who drives a Prius here LOL. I own guns, drive a huge diesel truck that gets 10 miles to the gallon (while my fellow Seattleies drives smart cars), and fish. :)

We had Locker. Yes, occasionally he would have great games. He was an absolute best. Ran a 4.5 at 6'4". But he put up stinkers on a regular basis. Overthrew wide open WRs. And our team struggled (mainly because of Jake's inadequacies). Our current QB (a sophomore) basically lit it up this year, with nearly the exact same supporting class that Jake had.

But you know what. We all still love Locker, because he's a Dawg, and we wish him success in the NFL.
And to clarify, on the race issue, I don't think EVERYONE bases their support of JJ or JL on race. Of course their are logical folks that weigh ability and production. But as an outsider, it appears that it drives a lot of the discussion.

I find it hard to believe the OP is a lawyer. I wouldn't think someone who reads and writes all day would have created a post that is so rife with grammatical and spelling errors.

Ha Ha. First, when I post on message boards, it is usually with a beer in my hand. Second, I proofread everyday (I'm an intellectual property lawyer), and when I come on message boards to waste some time, I rarely spell check and get concerned with grammar. Michigan Law Class of '98 and been using HuskyLawyer at Dawgman.com for over 10 years.
I have no doubt you guys have a great fan base. I'm actually rooting for you in the NC game. I'm also looking forward to coming to the game next year. My crew travels to a lot of away games (South Bend, Ann Arbor, Lincoln). But I hear Baton Rouge is awesome!

An Outsiders Take on QB Situation

Posted by wolverinehusky on 12/5/11 at 1:48 pm
Hi All,

First, I'm a University of Washington (Class of '95) and Michigan fan (Lass of '98-Law School). I'm "huskylawyer" on dawgman.com, the primary University of Washington football forum (paying member with almost 2000 posts). I say this so people don't think I'm some closet LSU fan that posted on the QB situation before. I'm also a HUGE Miles fan, and I'm disappointed that he didn't go to Michigan.

I planned on signing up for this forum in anticipation of the UW-LSU football game (which I plan to attend). I started to lurk here the past few weeks to get information on your team. Great fans and insightful, but something completely shocked me.

What is the deal with the utter hate of your QBs???!!!

Reading the posts, it just seems crazy, and I've never seen anything like it. Many of you literally despise YOUR OWN!? I never seen a fan base turn on their own players as bad as here. Sure, all fans will get mad at their players, but they still support the player since they are "one of our own." Those kids are attending your school (and in some cases, YOUR CLASSMATES), and contributing. And I see posts like, "he's dumb" or "I can't wait till he's gone." You guys even turn on former players (e.g., Jamarcuss Russell). What is up with that?

At UW, last year we had Jake Locker. He was super fast, could probably play RB in the NFL, but he was a terrible QB. He couldn't hit a barn if it was in front of him. We got a new traditional pocket passing QB this year, and he proceeded to break the passing TD record (30). We had lots of debates on Locker at Dawgman, but you know what, NONE of us said we hate him. None of us said he was dumb. If trolls from other teams attacked him, we STILL defended him, even though we knew he was an inadequate QB. Why? Because he was one of us. A few years ago we had Isiah Stanback (a WR in the NFL) playing QB. He wasn't a very good QB, and we lost a lot of games. But you know what? We all still love him, because he's a Dawg. We cheer when he does well in the NFL.

But here, you guys literally hate JJ or JL. You call them names. Sure, JJ had his assault deal, and JL seems like he has little interest in class, but they are YOUNG MEN (like many of you) who make mistakes, and why would you turn on your own because of that?

From an outsider, honestly, and this is just being blunt - it appears some of you have BIG issues with race. That's sad, as we are in 2011, and it kinda reinforces stereotypes about Louisiana.

As for who should be starting, personally, you guys are crazy for questioning Miles, as unless you attend practice every day, the results speak for themselves. Miles prefers JJ, and he doesn't trust JL. It ain't rocket science. The reason behind that isn't some "affirmative action" (as one poster shockingly said in a post I read), but rather, he EVERY DAY dealings with JJ and JL. As for my own person opinion, frankly, I think you guys are a better team with JJ. Like our former QB (Locker), he's a great athlete with questionable decision making skills and throwing ability. But the team seems to rally around him, and his mistakes (incomplete passes), aren't as killing as JL's mistakes (you lose to Bama if Lee plays that entire game--for that alone you should be grateful to have JJ). He also doesn't seem to get flustered as much as Lee I'd gather that Miles, who is a lot smarter than all of us, sees that. Its kinda like Tebow in Denver. Before this weekend, he was downright outfall, and passes like a woman. But you know what? He wins, and that is all that matters.

But regardless of who you think is better, why would you turn ON YOUR OWN. Again, I'm just flabbergasted that some of you guys would hate your own players, largely over "fanbois" who support a player because of the color of their skin. It is just sad.

Just had to add in on this topic. I was going to post on "where should us Husky fans stay" but I had to post on this because I was in utter shock at what is going on here. Never seen a fan base turn on their own players who contribute to the team (the Jamarcuss Russell bashing was surprising as well). We had Billy Joe Hobert, who was generally a punk and put us on probation for buying corvettes every year. But you know what, he's a Dawg, and we all support him, despite what he did.
