1967 Saints started out 5-1 and ended at 3-11? So 2 of their wins were taken away? That's the most Saints thing ever.
Is it that OL is bad or is the DL that good? I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I think OP was giving one away for free. Hopefully NOSHAU got it.

Yep. He got it.

WTH, what is that for? I come here to be a nice guy and give away a Saints quilt and you gotta say $hit like that? Must be Falcon's fan. :yack:

My little princess is 22 and not a sports fan unfortunately. If there are no takers it's going to Ukraine.

Anyone want one of these for their little Saints fan? Free. You just pay to ship. My mom bought it for me not realizing it's for a girl.
I'm 52 and remember the Archie Manning days all too well.
I was at that game. Still have the program that I got autographed by Jimmy the Greek.
Falcons at Saints 1979. Game went into OT then Saints hike ball over Erxleben's head. Game over.

Cardinals broadcast though.
1980 @ SF Saints were up 35-7 and lost 38-35 in OT.
1979 Oakland in the dome on MNF Saints were up 35-14. Lost 42-35. I was there and got Jimmy the Greek's autograph.
Earliest memories:

First Saints game: 1979 Saints 34, Falcons 40 OT
Chuck Muncie throws a halfback option to Wes Chandler for a TD.
In OT the long snapper snaps the ball over Russell Erxleben's head and he throws it to a Falcon who returns it for the game winning score.

Later that year: Monday night against Oakland. Saints 35, Raiders 42. Got Jimmy the Greek to autograph my program. Saints return an int for a touchdown (Kenny Bordelon I believe) early in the second half to put the Saints up 35-14. All down hill after that and we lose by 7.

Upon reading the subject the first name that came to mind was Rich Mauti

1978 — Falcons vs. Saints: Falcons win 20–17 on a 57-yard Hail Mary from Steve Bartkowski to Alfred Jackson.

It was excruciatingly painful.

If I remember correctly, didn't the Falcons beat us twice that year with the Big Ben. :banghead:

Regular season: 1979 season opener vs. Falcons.

I was in the end zone where Russell Erxleben muffed the punt and threw the INT to the Atlanta player in the end zon

This was my first Saints game as well. Besides the snap over the head to end the game I remember Chuck Muncie throwing a bomb to Wes Chandler on a half back option.

Coach Payton and BountyGate

I don't know if this was discussed elsewhere, but if evidence turns up that proves BountyGate is bunch of BS, will coach Payton be reinstated along with the other players who were suspended? The problem I see is that the process could take a while and probably not affect this season anyway. One could always hope though.
