A Fish Video Tutorial: Oregon’s Straddled Triple Option
Posted by FishDuck on 9/2/11 at 11:15 am
Hello to all,
This is the final tutorial before the season starts, I’ll be doing a video game analysis each week during the season. As usual, come back here to discuss and of course I always welcome your feedback.
Oregon does their Triple Option a little different compared to other teams; it has an interesting twist to it that we can understand due to the prior video tutorials.

A Fish Video Tutorial: The Power Play (Shorter)
Posted by FishDuck on 9/1/11 at 2:15 pm
Hello everyone,
Go to fishduck.com and on the front page you can quickly run the new short video about the Power Play. I really enjoyed this video, as it appeals to those who love the running game. (Come back here and discuss as usual)
Look at the first four listings, and I have a new report up about the changes coming in Oregon’s Offense.

A Fish Video Tutorial: The Outside Zone Read
Posted by FishDuck on 8/30/11 at 8:47 am
There is some pretty cool game footage of the last two years in this one and it IS a base foundation video to learn the offense from as is the Inside Zone Read. Come back here to discuss as usual and if the title at the top of your page says, “Power Play”….it is a muff that will be corrected shortly. This page IS the Outside Zone Read.
We also have some inadvertent humor from a new star on the video………

Norfolk...that was great. I've come to appreciate great talent using the Zone Read, and plays like that are fun to watch.
My take on that play is....yes, it was a mid-line out of what we call the Outside Zone Read, (that video will be up in a week) and since the DT "sat" then technically the correct read was to hand off.
However Jefferson, is like Masoli was for us; there are times when the QB KNOWS he's a better athlete in space than the defender he's Zone Reading, hence he takes off after a move or two.
Great stuff--thanks.

First Fish Video Tutorial: The Inside Zone Read

Hey Tigers,
It was a ton of hours…like 45 over a month, and some expense but here is some information about the Oregon Offense that should make the game a bit more interesting for you.

Come back here and discuss as usual. I am curious….does LSU run the Zone Read play at all?

Oregon runs a couple of triple options. The most common is what I call the "Straddled" Triple Option where we run an Inside Zone one direction, and the speed double option the other direction.
I'll be doing a video about it a few weeks.
We also run a triple option on playside, which began with the final regular season game of the year and was done in the NC game. Below is a report about the new "Slash" formations which had some triple option out of it.
LINK
In Oregon's case the play is not the center of the offense but simply another variation-derivative off the base offense.

Thanks Veritas,
I suspect we will see that formation in Dallas, as Chip typically likes to try things for a play or two in a game before using them. Now I know that Les has seen it, but the fans may not have.
What many find amusing is how we are bringing in some new speedsters in addition to LaMichael and Barner that could benefit from the open space. While it is not new...it is new to us, and makes things interesting.

Hey Everybody,
Below is a link to the latest Fish Report video as of Sunday night. It is of the Triple Tailback Threat and I think it runs more easily than the text and has some additional video plays not in the original text due to space limitations. As always—come back here to discuss.
