that they do, and a good job of it too... I'll make my way out that way at some point. Can't fish EVERY weekend unfortunately :-/
Ehh... we haven't had a tournament there in about 2-3 years. We tried one in Chicot three years ago that had poor turnout. Most of the guys that fish our tournaments are from the SE area, so they don't like going West.

the Lafayette guys travel better than ours to tell you the truth. Would be nice to have a trout or flounder tournament this time of year that way. Might have to suggest that for 2019.
You're fine. I know TD can get a little hellish at times, and it's hard to decipher what's someone's true opinion about something, or someone just ragging everyone else b/c it's a forum.

The sport is not for everyone, and it's not as easy as it might appear. I got into it b/c I didn't want to spend the money for a full on boat. Eventually I'm sure I'll have one, just not now. Since then however, it's grown on me, and there's been many a situation where I've been happy to have it.

Our club's a good one. And the majority of it's members, and also non members who fish our tournaments are good people. But every group has it's bad eggs. And he isn't the only one I'm sure and he won't be the last. We learn and we evolve, and we move on.

Seriously though, not trying to kill the thread, just want to be available if anyone has anything they feel wasn't clarified from the FB page.

Thanks again!
This will probably end poorly for me, but we'll see. El Presidente' here... feel free to ask me any questions and I'll answer as best I can.

I jumped in b/c of the last post regarding a TD winning an event. If I'm thinking of who I think you're talking about, he did in fact win one of our tournaments... he also won a couple Lafayette Kayak club tournaments, as well as two Hobie World events. One was in Denmark, the other that "back yard" you're referring to. He doesn't have a camp in Leeville to my knowledge, so we may be talking about two different people.

But as it's been said before, our tournaments are spread from Houma, Grand Isle, New Orleans East, and Hwy 23 towards Venice. No matter where we have a tournament, someone will always be more knowledgeable than others. Many pre-fish throughout the year in these areas to prepare. Many also get regular boats so they can scout faster. Still requires you to learn an area, learn your gear, and execute your plan on tournament day.

Anyway, long time lurker to TD, and first time caller, so if it helps to answer your questions I'm happy to oblige.

why do LSU and Florida matter more than South Alabama and Presbyterian? They deserve to play their games too.

They'll play their game regardless. I think the point is looking again at the "big picture" ESPN should have spoken up and said, "we'll get viewership (which translates into 'we get more money') from airing LSU/FLA vs SA/Presb".

It's not that he doesn't care about that game, if the "big picture" is the stock in college football as a business, it's easy to see that the bigger school game is the better draw. It's like comparing the Rose/Fiesta/Orange/Sugar bowls to the State Farm, CarQuest, Meineke Bowl sponsored by Jim's Auto.

Those launching out of Falgoust, are yall fishing Lake De Cade?
I'm thinking about heading out from Jug's and trying Lake Mechant for specs then coming back towards for Reds... haven't been there before, but fished Lake De Cade and that area a few times before.
