A couple of thoughts on MLS Attendance I wrote about: [link=(MLS Attendance)]https://www.soccerwithswagger.com/why-mls-is-the-next-major-pro-league/[/link].

The main idea here is that we're not on par with the other major sport leagues but, it's only a matter of time before soccer surpasses all of them.

MLS average attendance continues to grow nearly every year. If you look at average attendance in the NBA, there has been a consistent trend every year to increase by about 1 thousand people. Granted, this fluctuates year-to-year but it's an important figure.

The MLS has reliably increased their average attendance numbers at a similar rate but the league is far younger and thus has yet to come close to reaching it's potential.

Outside of Football, the other leagues like NHL, MLB and NBA have hit their peak. Youth participation in their sports has steadily decreased over the past decade. The generation of fervent supporters (especially baseball) who grew up with the game are continuing to have less of a presence in the game.

MLS on the other hand benefits from a virtually limitless pipeline of passionate youth players growing up in America who will transition to be life-long supporters of the game. All of their kids will playing soccer, not baseball.

There is no new demographic the other leagues can look forward to to help increase their audience. Baseball is popular in parts of Latin America but it doesn't come close to the passion surrounding soccer. With the Hispanic population set to triple in the United States by 2050, soccer will clearly be the beneficiary of this infusion of people.
