Yea, I actually was mistaken. His mother was born there, and he, his sister, and cousin were able to live there during the Great Depression in order to pool resources.

Who's family?

Chicken banned Cat for posting safe for work pictures of interracial couples. It was really weird

Forreal? Aw, oh well. Maybe others have info?
I'm very sorry for her loss and am respectful of her as a grieving mother but this is exactly the reason I loathe Chrissy in general. She extremely desperate for attention and it quite unbecoming. The things she post in general are obnoxious and always with the tone of being more [insert positive adjective] then others.

What about this thread deserves an anchor?

ETA: I figured it out, I suppose.

I didn't even know it was?
Cool to hear and thanks for responding! I was looking for interior photographs or floorplans. I read at one time the house was open for tours so I figured someone at one time or another must have snapped some interior shots. I watched the movie "Band of Angels" since I heard the house was featured there. They showed interior shots but I couldn't tell if it was a set or the actual inside of the house because the staircase didn't seem typical of other plantation houses.

Ha!
Well dang, I guess it was sorta a private question but it wasn't about a publicly recognized place so I thought it was appropriate? No need to be so nasty.

Hey, did it work this time?
!
Really? Aww, don't tell me that, my hopes were getting so high.
Lol, I just saw your avatar, it makes sense now.

I can offer my heartfelt appreciation?
Lol, that ain't a polite thing to say now is it?
I know I don't have many posts but I'm not a bot if that's what you're alluding to. I actually post a lot here: Baton Rouge Urban Planet. I invite everyone to join if you like BR development news (although it is show right now).
I just assumed most forum sites had that capability?
EDIT:I changed the title of the thread. The original title of thread: TheCaterpillar if you're here, may I ask you some questions about the Cottage Plantation

Hi everyone, I was trying to find more information/pictures on the former Cottage Planation of Baton Rouge (as opposed to the one in St. Francisville). Specifically does anyone have pictures or floor plans of the interior? I was trying to find some online but couldn't find anything. I was the the movie "Band of Angels" that featured the exterior of the building but couldn't tell if the interior shot were of the plantation or a set?

Additionally I was thinking of nominating the site for a historic marker. I don't know what dream world I was living in but I didn't know it has to be paid for/sponsored by the people nominating the site. I'm not necessarily opposed to that but I have no idea how to run a fundraising campaign or even where to begin, so if anyone has any ideas that'd be most appreciated.

Original thread post: I know this is a clumsy way of communicating but I saw that the user: TheCaterpillar had unique information on the Cottage/Conrad/Hackberry Hall plantation formerly located in EBR. I would have sent a personal message but couldn't figure out how. If you'd care to, I'd love to discuss what you know in this thread or you can email me.

I'm not a professional historian or anything, I just really like learning about Baton Rouge history. I was doing Google research on the former plantation and found the thread https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/o-t-lounge/history-buffs-what-is-was-name-of-that-burned-down-plantation-on-river-road/68662895/page-2/ which is how I thought to initiate contact. A little strange I know but it never hurts to try right, lol!
