re: Old Tulane Stadium Recreation Project
Posted by tbo on 10/12/25 at 6:15 pm to HurricaneCamille
This is outstanding. I was young when it was torn down and often have wanted to know what it looked like inside. Can you do Pelicans stadium if you can get enough information? Would love to experience that. One of the shames in this country is we tear down our Coliseum's while Europe preserves them.
For longtime LSU fans, USC’s 17-12 last-minute comeback win in Baton Rouge in 1979 remains a different sort of deep cut, one that still bleeds — that rare loss that belongs on the list of the most unforgettable games LSU has ever played. For decades, uber-talented USC’s players have shared its lasting impression.
“I haven’t been in an event like that at any level of football,” Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, a USC starting safety that night, told The Times-Picayune 30 years later. “Out of all the games I’ve ever played in, I’ve never been in anything like that, and I am including my Super Bowls in that assessment.
“It’s probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd.”
I was there it’s still the single greatest sporting event I ever attended and that includes the dome game after Katrina and NFC game title game. And countless great LSU nights since. Hard to explain why but I was 11 years old and it’s still emblazoned in my mind. it was something I have never experienced since.

re: My feelings for Oklahoma City

I’m glad someone posted this. I thought many on this board would be too young to know or wasn’t able to follow along. But I followed it closely on an old Pelicans board. There were guys there Harveyhornet and westcoasthornet for example that got a lot of inside info in those days. This was a flat out attempt to poach our team during the worst American tragedy. And their leaders were ugly about it. It was disgraceful in every way. David Stern really never loved the New Orleans market but he saved the NBA in New Orleans at that time Shinn was begging to go there. I remember him visiting there for a game and calling them a small city when they were pushing for him to say “major” league. Even our radio guy Sean something of other was in on it because he was from that area. So yeah I celebrated that shot last night like it was a Saints playoff win and I don’t even care much about the NBA at this time. There’s a forever sin on that place.
re: How far is Trump going to let the market / bond fall

He's got issues politically if he's losing someone like me and he is quickly. I've never voted Democrat in my life and was a Trumper almost from the start but I'm not going to walk along like sheep. This is very disappointing and looks amateurish and yes like just score settling at our expense. I'm mad as hell at myself for even thinking or posting this but I feel hoodwinked.
I thought they were already tanking.
Payton at Hall of Fame Today

At best it was strange and weird. At worst very classless. He was introduced and the place treated him with the loud and long applause. He grabs the mike and says. Enough of the fu…. niceties. I’ll see you tonight. And literally ran out the room while Ken Trahan tried to save the moment. If he meant it to be funny or whatever. It was awkward and bad. Wondering if others had the same vibe.
Is the channel on Directv
re: Pelicans announce TV deal, Lopez new sideline reporter
Posted by tbo on 10/5/24 at 10:39 am to Galactic Inquisitor
This was genius for this franchise and others to come. They took an existing free platform with all kinds of space. They didn’t convert an old channel they created a new one on 7.1 in New Orleans for example. Why? Pretty much unlimited air space. They then reach over 9 million people, no longer do fans or teams need to be held hostage by cable/ streaming/ satellite providers or the channels. ( see espn). They completely flipped the leverage and it’s good for the teams and their fans. The one thing the fans and team had in common in the old way is they were both suffering in terms of leverage. This franchise suffered for years because of the old system. What will be more interesting is does direct tv put it on the local tier or sports tier. Technically this is a local channel. Do the Pelicans push for this, maybe we’ll see, but what’s different is they have the leverage if they think it’s important. If not do consumers sue, it’s a local channel. No matter what, these games are now always available because your Chanel can’t be removed! Unless you’re too lazy or cheap to get an antenna. BTW. This channel signal seems to be very strong compared to what I need to do with my antenna to get some other locals. Again….. Genius move I’m just shocked it came from our market.
re: at what point do you see a doctor for a sinus infection?
Posted by tbo on 9/3/24 at 12:48 pm to SmogkDeizKnutz
Do your own research but most sinus infections are not bacterial. They’re finding fungus is a much more common reason and if you give antibiotics which is fungus to a fungus you get worse. Probably why people have chronic sinus infections. However, they don’t teach doctors this or they’re afraid of lawsuits if they don’t give you the antibiotic.
Advice on down payment for investment property
Posted by tbo on 8/13/24 at 12:40 pm
Interested in purchasing our first investment property for short term rentals on Mississippi coast. Have the necessary down payment and great credit score but don’t really want to give up all that cash. Are there lenders that will do less than 20-30 percent down?
JVC car stereo screen issue
Posted by tbo on 7/31/24 at 7:45 pm
It’s an older model. Touch screen going haywire, jumping all over the place including the volume. It’s like a ghost is touching the screen. Any suggestions on a fix, hoping there might be one.

Because both are anti fungal medicines. There has been other anti fungal medicines with evidence working against cancer. Because a lot of cancers are likely fungal growths but our medical industrial complex is blind to this.
re: Do you think FSU & Clemson could end up in the Big12?
Posted by tbo on 7/10/24 at 9:56 am to JimTiger72
Perhaps the move by these two will be to form a new smaller big tv market conference. Where the payout conference wise would be smaller but equal more money with less teams. Just thinking out loud. Could look something like this and maybe if there is talk of Big 12. That’s where it’s coming from.
FSU
Miami
North Carolina
Clemson
Syracuse (New York)
Houston
TCU (Dallas)
Colorado (Denver)
Arizona (Phoenix)
Stanford (Los Angelas, SanFran)
Washington State (Seattle)
Cincinnati
This could be paired to 10 teams if necessary.

Shady ownership deal. Top Rank Boxing and Bob Arum. Edwin Edwards orchestrated it and was behind it. The financing was suspect and Stern knew Edwards, Arum top rank etc were corrupt. Very few times in modern era a sale was outright blocked tells you how shady and suspect the whole thing was.
Where is Bobby Hebert
Posted by tbo on 4/25/24 at 9:05 pm
Noticed he’s not on radio coverage. Sorry if this has been discussed.
Issue seems to be resolved
Thanks Spec same on my end. I should have specified this is for dish not stream.
Anyone have Directv and not getting the game tonight? Just trying to make sure the issue is not just mine.
Jose is now a trade piece. He’s been relegated to scrub minutes on this team. He would have to be desirable in a trade. 2 weeks ago, it would be hard to see him fall out of favor so quick.
