re: Is Methanex a good company to work for?
Posted by bander on 3/9/15 at 4:44 am
Yeah. that would keep me from moving if I had 5-10 years at a plant.
I have to stay at mine. Been here for 20 years.I still have a small retirement with mine, but nothing close to the ones 10= years ago. Those days are gone....

They are paying well and stealing veteran operators from the surrounding plants. However, they only have one product, so that's always been a concern with plants. It's nice to make and market a lot of products for job security....
re: When should one stop watering the lawn in S. Louisiana?

My neighbors on both sides cut theirs like astroturf and water all the time. The length of the grass blade ~ equals the root.
Now to really piss them off, I've seeded rye grass so mine will be green all winter. "Pantera" doesn't grow crazy like regular rye grass. ...

If you cut it at the right height, you shouldn't have to water it at all. ...
re: Home buying situation - Do I need a buyer's agent?
Posted by bander on 5/12/14 at 2:12 pm
I told her the square footage was under the agreed amount, and she said "so that's how you're going to break the agreement?" Yup. I'd like to say that I told her off, but honestly I was too scared she'd come after me with a lawyer. I was much younger then and didn't have a lot of real world experien...

If you sign with a buyer agent for this one deal and doesn't work out then you find something 4 months down the road on your own, they will probably want their cut.
That's what mine tried to do. We signed the agreement for 3 months thinking we were doing a good thing. She was real interest...

"When he was 12, his father gave him his first rifle, a .22-caliber Mossberg. He shot rats in the New Jersey Meadowlands and honed his skills on an aunt’s laundry clothespins."
Ah, the good ole days. ...

re: I'm going to start brewing beer at home....

I think some of my early batches were terrible bc I didn't cool the batch quickly enough, and the aroma hops wound up bittering. Will check out the Food board. Thanks for the links....

I've ordered from both of these places and have been happy with their service and products. Each kit makes 5 gallons of beer, or 52-54 longnecks.
Start with light ales until you get the hang of it. Th...

I brewed for 10 years or so. I think I've made just about everything possible. Mine were 5 gallon batches.Never seen people make a good beer with the small kits, but they may have improved. If this doesn't turn out well, don't give up. They have a lot of guys on the food board brewing. ...

It's most admirable that you want to help, but you can't just show up to scenes like this and be able to help. The guard will turn you away unless you have some strong credentials. Why don't you consider donating blood tomorrow? They are going to need it.
I have relatives in the area. I feel what ...

this is quoted from Motley Fool, and Ford is on their core stock list. I don't think I would buy, but rather hold right now if you had some.
" Ford's total number of global models has actually shrunk considerably since Mulally's(CEO) arrival, and it'll shrink more in the next few years. It is true ...

These made me laugh. I forgot how bad the mullet craze was. Want to see Alexi's fro next, please. I think Balboa still had his mullet when he played with Alexi.
