Posted by flyguy594 on 8/7/09 at 1:02 am
Dan Campbell and Randall Gay are sitting out, Reggie IS practicing.
hartley made every kick but a 40 something yarder and a 59 yarder
Defense played better against the run today than yesterday
Brees looked good ( When doesnt he, He gets a article when he throws a pic)
Tracey porter looking good on run support
Green continues to impress in the passing game ( Still not looking good in the return game, which is what I think will hurt him)
Usama Young hit Bush in his knee ( Bush was OK)
Hamilton and Hill running hard
Chip Vaughn had a awesome hit on Herb Donaldson
1 on 1 updates
- Dunbar put Hamilton on butt on 1 on 1 drills
- vilma has Heath evans number (we know that)
- Harper put a good move on Dinkins in 1 on 1's to get the sack
- Grant got Stinch and Stinch got Grant
- Ellis beat Jahri Evans to get a sack in 1 on 1s
- Goodwin never got beat( I like to hear that)
- Nicks man handeled spicer
- Spicer seeing action at DE and DT
- Smith got Brown and Brown got Smith
wwltvsportsArmy Nat'l Gd., Jon Gruden, Juan Kincaid all take in practice at Saints Facility. Bush practices full, Colston big grabs, 2-min drill in
jeffduncantp:Just talked to Gruden. Very high on Saints. JG: "I really think that with the additions that they’ve made that they have a real chance. "
jeffduncantp:Gruden on Saints: "They’ve added some pieces this year to their team that I think are going to make them real hard to deal with."
jeffduncantp:Prax update: Mike Bell bruised hip. Will be evaluated. No other injuries to report
Also Hebert said that Brees was just about perfect today
Sean Payton thinks bell will be fine per wwl
7 on 7 Drew got three first downs in a row
Brees to Shockey pluss 12
Brees to henderson plus 10
Brees to Colston plus 20
Brees had one bad pass to Devery which he threw it behind him
Brees to Meachem plus 20
Brunell didnt look bad
harrington threw a bad pass but lance moore still came up with the catch (Leigh Torrence should have come up with the pic)
Jonathon Casillas had a good run stuff against Pj Hill
Play of the day, Brees to Meachem 50 yards... Great throw by Brees, woulda been a 70 yard TD
2 minute drill
Grant knocked ball out of brees hands (fumble)
colston had a tough drop
comes back and catches a 25 yard catch
Porter had good coverage on henderson but henderson catches it
brees hit bush with a first down
Offense had edge in passing game, but D did step up in run game
*Also noted that u can see that connection with Brees and Shockey really getting strong now that Shockey's healthy and they're puttin time together
jeffduncantpSaints worked on some 3-4 today. McCray, J. Charleston, T. Evans & J. Dunbar took turns at stand-up OLB.
~Player of the day: Drew Brees
