I know this kid's father. Used to be an Edward Jones I.R. from the Lafayette area. Now lives in NOLA. The topic of many of our discussions, when we were runnin' buddies (Post Katrina), was his boy and what a great athlete he was.

I fear he will not be taking this well. Haven't talked to him in about 3 yrs, so I don't know.
Had to know that little story would come back to bite.

Congrats to LSU. What a beast of a team! Love every one of your players and coaches and enjoyed being in there with ya!

Enjoy your celebration and see y'all next year.

To the victors go the spoils. Great series, great team, great win for LSU. Enjoy the celebration guys.

P.S. I hate the announcers who seem to have this infatuation with All conferences but the SEC

Seriously, no flame here, but I really have to wonder which games you were watching. These announcers CLEARLY want LSU to win. Mike Patrick sounds like he's going to put a .45 in his mouth every time something goes right for Texas and every time something goes wrong for LSU. The entire booth wore all Purple for their first broadcast. Whenever Mitchell comes up they bubble with giddiness, especially Patrick. It irritated me for about 3 minutes and then just became kind of funny, so please don't take this as a dig or anything even remotely like that. I just really don't understand how you can say there's some anti-SEC or LSU bias happening in this deal.
Like I said last night, this is two HEAVYWEIGHTS slugging it out and it's a thing of beauty. It's an old, tired cliche, but it really is a shame that one of these teams has to lose. Both play with such amazing passion and seem to eat pressure by the shovel full. I jumped the idiot johnny come lately Horn fans last night who were saying "we choked" and all that BS. Your team WON that game, Texas did not give it away. Tonight, Texas WON the game. It's too bad when people miss the absolute majesty of what we are all witnessing because of petty insecurities. This is one for the ages and this Horn fan is damned proud that LSU is in this with us. I wouldn't want it any other way, After tomorrow night, one fan base will be proud and happy and the other will be proud. No hate from this Longhorn, I love your team.

Hook'em and Geaux Tigers!!!

The dude did not get shaken by giving up a homerun he attacked each batter the same way. Many other factors helped play part in allowing 5 home runs.

One also being fact Texas batters actually attacked his fastball. They were aggressive and it paid off for them. They were also a more patient team early in game.

Perfectly put.

Texas hitters were aggressive which is exactly what they needed to be. They made Coleman pay for the mistakes he made which is what your suppose to do as a hitter.

Exactly my point. They were aggressive, but they also took the pitches necessary to get their pitch. Tonight the myth that Texas is all "small ball" and the myth that the Tigers just win with "Gorilla ball" were both smashed into an equal number of minute pieces.

Oh, and to rag on Coleman is to really be so attached to one's ignorance that there is probably no sufficient help out there to remedy the malady. Good luck with all that.

To not give Texas hitters credit is just as ignorant as the Texas fans who are saying the Horns "choked" this game away. Coleman didn't have his top notch stuff, I'm sure, but those bombs were much more a function of disciplined hitting.

Enjoy the win. You came out on top of the best CWS Finals game played to date. Pure CLASSIC.

Jungman threw 6 pitches. He'll be plenty okay for tomorrow or a possible game 3. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the start tomorrow.

This.

When Matty Ott got the strikeout to end the 10th (IIRC) and he jumped up and did the fist pump, the thought NEVER crossed my mind that he was being an A-hole. First thing I thought, through the pain mind you, was THAT's why I love this deal. I think both of these teams have sincere respect for each other. Just the opinion of one guy who's followed both teams closely this year.
I didn't see it, but I do wear the Burnt Orange sunglasses. I really thought the curtain call was more a function of them having to listen to all the media talk about how they can't hit, "smal ball", etc. The fans sort of overdid the ovation for that which prompted the curtain call as a "don't leave me hangin'" type deal. I thought both teams played hard and showed incredible class considering the amount of adrenaline that had to be pumping through those kids bodies. I really enjoyed seeing AG and PM out there in the middle of that pressure cooker still having fun with the game. I think any Horn fan or LSU fan who tries to dwell on perceived "slights" from that game are really blocked from the experience of the absolute masterpiece that the game tonight was and I am sorry for them.

Great game Tigers. You have a fun, classy, complete, and clutch bunch of guys out there.

As a Texas fan I'd just like to ask the OP, in a very respectful way, are F'n crazy? Unless this is some reverse Kung Fu Jedi Counter Subconscious Espionage Bush League Psych Out Stuff, you DO NOT want this to got three games. If I'm you guys, I am like the a-hole dude on Karate Kid.

"There is no mercy in this DOJO!!! SWEEP THE LEG!"

All that said, sure hope we can keep our "small ball" going.
Great game Tigers. I want to congratulate you and your team on playing with amazing heart. I have watched y'all all year and try as I might, can't find one guy on the team to not like.

Of course, you're going to encounter the bandwagon Horn fans who'll talk about how Texas choked, blah blah blah, but just know that this Horn saw it for what it was...two heavyweights battling it out to a near standstill and one landing the final haymaker. LSU WON that game and you guys have every right to be proud and happy. Horns have every right to be proud too, if not happy
