Me and some of my buddies were eating at The Great Wall and in came Herm with the family. The family was so huge they made Herm look approachable. We waited for his family to get up and told Herm hello, nicest stranger I have ever met. Throughout our meal I could not help but look at his mom and think... poor lady.
Tailgating at UF is like tailgating at a South American professional soccer match. Overall a very strange experience, lots of neon. It just does not have the SEC feel.

TNT if you are monitoring the thread hit me up about a flat screen for the bus. I work for a Distributor of them and can give you a deal. We have a clearance center that I get updates from weekly.
Any help with the TV would be greatly appreciated, let me know what ya got.

why do yall tailgate all the way down by river road.
That is where the general admission motorhome lot is located. Really great place to tailgate, We rarely get complaints and this is also where most away fan motorhome's park. The VA Tech and Univ. South Car. fans loved the bus and admitted that neither university had anything on LSU in terms of fan support.

What are the box cabinets in the 2nd picture?
The cabinets consist of 3/4 inch plywood for the doors and sides. We jig-sawed the LSU out on a template and then used it as a guide for our router. Behind the LSU is expanded metal that was spray painted John Deer Yellow. The cabinets were framed up with 4x4's and we then burnt all of the wood grains and applied a Brazilian Rosewood gel stain for a finish.

I have always thought about doing this but I hear it is a nightmare to keep those old buses running?
We purchased our bus from a church in Hammond. We have had pretty good luck with the engine so far. We make sure to crank it up often so the bus doesn't sit up. Flat tires suck, when one goes down we put the bus on blocks and go and get a re-tread (about 125$, new tire cost $500 roughly). We do baby the bus, no road trips etc... at 1-2 mpg why would you.

How much was it just to get the ball rolling initially?
Guy wanted $1,000 we offered $500 and it actually ran. Scariest ride of my life going from Hammond, LA to BR, LA, Backfiring about every mile or so.
First thing we did was take the seats out and paint the inside. We did everything ourselves except paint the exterior and we estimate the total cost to be somewhere between $7-$10,000 including Surround Sound, Generator, and A/c's

TNT,i'm sure you've seen TUB. The unsupervised bus
We have seen T.U.B. We actually ran across their website before we purchased our bus (left to die at a flea market parking lot in Hammond, paid $500 for the bus, lol) They did a very good job and gave us a number of ideas.
That's it. GA Tech Guys did a really good job.

Looks like some good times will be had in that baby. The best I ever saw was at Georgia Tech. It was an old converted school bus just like yours, but a big chunk of the passenger-side wall (10'-12') folded down to just above ground level making a deck/wide entrance. They installed an awning over that.
Whenever we were building the TNT bus we actually came across that one on the web. It is an excellent bus, I believe it had wood floors as well. We were wanting to do a deck on top of this bus but at the time (4 19 year old college students) funding became an issue post Katrina, material cost etc... We did have the LSU theme to work with though, which is a big plus in terms of status and colors.

Awesome! Where at?
A new TV on the interior hopefully will be taken care of before App St. These pictures were taken before bringing out to the first game (LSU vs. Tenn 2005, Les first game) we have made changes/repairs since ie. new countertop, completed bathroom (installed LCD TV in bathroom)etc..

Many members of TNT have also been long time members of Tiger Droppings. We have yet to post pictures of our bus and namesake on Tiger Droppings. We hope you enjoy and would also like to send out an open invitation to come check out The Bus in action this season/ Skip Bertman Dr. and River Rd. (sorry about the Toonces graphics, an upgrade is on the way!) :geauxtigers:

Everything out of Saint's camp indicates a very productive season on his end. If training camp goes well he has as good a chance as anyone to be the number 2.
