I’ve noticed that all of these people Trump is nominating, and many of those who voted for him, most often than not speak about their own experiences. They seem to forget that their privileged lives are not the lives of millions of Americans.
Hegseth has also spoken about reconstructing the "Third Temple" in Jerusalem, based on his religious views. This would require the destruction of Islam's holiest site which anyone serving in the military knows such effort would likely trigger a war. Just as the move of the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem caused more aggressions in the region.

We don’t know the powers this new agency may have but as you said, most likely, it will not be able to cut funds. Congress does that after all.
But also, there are agencies such as OIG that already do what Trump suggested this new agency will do. The difference is that the OIG is nonpartisan nor politically influenced, while DOGE is clearly politically motivated.
Bottom line is that it appears DOGE will be created to “ cut wasteful expenditures” while creating additional wasteful expenditures. Another scam idea… kind of Trump’s university
