Get with the times. If your QB doesn't rush 10+ times a game, you lose the game.
Now I can't get it out of my head when I hear him calling games.
I did once, but it was a total accident. We were on a family trip and had to stop for a bathroom break and there weren't any gas stations close. Who knew they had church on Saturday? I didn't. But the parking lot was full so I stopped in and asked where the restroom was. Ended up staying for an hour and a half just trying to figure out what in the world was going on.
Yeah we deal with that too. I remember when a Copperhead bat was $30.

These sliding gloves aren't near that expensive. You can get a kids one for around $75 that will last a couple of seasons unless their team color is different next year. Luckily these travel ball teams keep their team colors for multiple seasons (usually), except for like the pink alternate uniforms we wear to mothers day tournaments. In that case his glove and cleat colors will just have to clash for the weekend. I'm not about to buy pink cleats.
I'm nostalgic. I've kept every hotel key card I've ever had, and I write a memory of the trip on it with a sharpie. Then I put them in a card binder (like the ones we have for baseball cards) and I have a Cricut machine that I design a label on Canva and cut it out to put on the outside of each clear binder pocket with the Place and date of travel. really cool to look back and remember all the fun places me and my family have traveled over the past 30 years, from close places like Lafayette to England.
Sorry, I meant "sliding head first" isn't allowed, for clarification.
Need some advice.

My son (9) is playing baseball this year, and he is adamant about wearing a sliding pad when he gets on base. I've never been a fan of them, because it's kind of wimpy, honestly. But more importantly, sliding isn't allowed for the league that he's in, so he's just wearing it to wear it.

Should I have the conversation with him about not wearing it? I know the whole "if you look good, you play good" argument, and he sees the college teams wearing them, but I think at this age it's just not a good look. Do you think it could be good for him to get used to running in it for when he gets older? I don't want to mess him up or make him upset.
Can you imagine the chemistry they'd have playing all of those years in college and then taking that to the NFL?
I would highly advise moving this operation outside. We've all been temped to do exactly what you're doing when it's cold outside, but there's always more grease splash than you think there will be. Plus there will be a lot of smoke in your kitchen.
