Ohio State, Notre Dame and Miami.

Georgia is so dang good this season! I already have them and Auburn penciled in for two of the eight teams in Omaha. Georgia will certainly get to the CWS.
Auburn looks Omaha worthy. MS State does not.

I went to the third game at Dudy Noble yesterday and watched a really good baseball team clinch the series. Too bad that team wasn't my homefield Bulldogs. It was Auburn and damn are they good!
A couple of observations:
1. MS State seems to have two solid pitchers, plus two more that are serviceable. We changed pitchers 6 times, whereas Auburn went most of the game with their starter, only making a change late, already up by 8-9 runs.
2. Auburn played with vigor, like they were hungry. MS State looked tired and showed little hustle.
3. Auburn has solid hitting. It might be some of the best I've seen all season. Only Georgia has a slight edge.
4. MS State really needs speed at the bases. Their throws were late and not well timed. It was Senior Day, the last home game for those seniors, yet they played lackadaisical.
Right now, I don't see this team putting it together and getting back to the CWS. Not this season. They appear to lack the drive. Auburn though, they look good enough to win it all.
Just saying.

Agreed. Getting that first game was key. Hopefully we can keep the momentum into the weekend.

Thanks man. It's a great place to see and experience a game. State fans are always accommodating to rival schools fanbases.

He might be the healthiest arm they have available today.

If MS State keeps spotting conference teams a 3 run start, we are going to lose more of those games than we will win.

They shouldn't be breaking off for softball at all. Put that shite on The Ocho!

Had a buddy from Arkansas who took his son to that game and he sent me a text about two hours after it ended, stating he'd never seen the Oxford campus so quiet. ??

Hell of a game, Rebs!
We put on a thriller in Starkville last night and you put on one today in Oxford.
Mississippi teams riding high at the moment!

Trying to watch the UGA-Miss game but ESPN has to do their thing and interrupt the flow by sticking in a split screen to show Oklahoma girl's fagotty softball! I give a hot shite about ladies softball and despise ESPN for piggybacking it off SEC baseball (a sport people actually care about) in order to boost their sorry ratings.
re: Is the SEC a baseball conference now?
Posted by Maroonster on 3/31/26 at 6:57 am to Turkeyneck81
I think the SEC has become the standard for college baseball, especially since the 1990's when UGA became one of the first teams besides LSU to win the CWS.
Since then, FL, S. Carolina, Vandy, MS State, OhMiss and UT have all become CWS Champs.
So I think you could argue that - along with still being the top football conference - we are also tops in baseball.

As happy as I am with the Bullies taking all three games from OhMiss, Florida sweeping Arkansas at home is a shocker to me.
What happened there Hogs??

I care. It's been exciting with conference play in full swing. MS State plays at Oxford against OM, so I'm hoping for a sweep or at least a series win.

I can't remember the last time we swept the Doors, so this feels good.

Having Kubiack as the OC didn't hurt either. It is good that Seattle prevailed, as they will be losing Kubiack to the Raiders.
re: Can we talk about how "dog shite" Drake Maye is playing?

Yep. With what the Texans D was getting off Patriot turnovers, CJ Stroud would toss it right back to them on the very next possession. If not for his 5 interceptions, I think Houston wins that game and makes it to the Super Bowl.

Two reasons:
1. A weak season schedule
2. Getting a lot of lucky breaks
