There is more parity than ever before in college football and I think he’s being benchmarked to those Saban seasons of going undefeated yearly or having one loss. That’s a really tough reality going forward. Obviously championships are the goal but even as an Oregon fan I basically just want a chance at playoffs yearly and then whatever happens happens.

No team will most likely ever have a Nick Saban type figure ever again. Just no chance a team will have 2-3 NFL starters as backups at every position lol.

It’s really just the portal that spread out the talent. Kids knew it didn’t matter if they sat out 3y at Bama or LSU or Georgia, because they would play their 4th year and then get drafted in first 4 rounds. Now that’s no longer the case. Makes it impossible to have some of those rosters Bama had in the past or Georgia etc. Took three first rounders on the Oline + Deshaun Watson to give Bama a run for its money which is wild.
