There is no WiFi infrastructure in the stadium. Cellular communication is a more complex challenge to solve, but there is a plan in place to make improvements prior to next season. It is a very costly investment for 8 games a year, and a lot of what is required has a lot to do with the cellular carriers.
Wrong! Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile all share the same distributed antenna system in the stadium. Verizon does not have more antennas than either of the other two carriers. It’s all about the amount of bandwidth each carrier has in the market and which frequency bands they are deploying. AT&T is working to upgrade their equipment which will improve their system performance within the next few weeks.
Stadiums, arenas, airports and most other large venues have “deconstructed cell towers” called distributed antenna systems to provide cellular coverage. Tiger stadium literally has a cell tower built on top of the stadium that covers portions of the campus and still has a DAS for the stadium itself.
