re: Childhood Cancer is horrible

Thank you so much …That is so kind of you. I’ll be sure to share your wonderful post with my son and family as well.
My son was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma in November 2020 when he was 12. He has been in remission since January 2021 after his 2nd round of treatment and completed treatment at the end of March 2021. Let me know if your friend has any questions. Also, if your friend has Facebook, he/she might be interested in joining the ALCL pediatric group (spelled paediatric in the group name). As far as how to help the family, if a meal train has been started you can sign up to bring a meal one night. Gift cards are nice. I felt very touched when a family dropped off a card along with a gift card on Christmas Eve. Each of the family members wrote a message to my son on the card which brightened his night. Christmas didn’t feel quite the same with the diagnosis and treatment still being pretty new so thinking of my son and family on that night was very touching. Instead of saying “let me know if I can do anything to help”, just come up with a way to help without asking. The kindness of friends and strangers was amazing while my son was going through treatment. Thinking of your daughter as she hears the news about her friend.
