Galligan is certainly a psychopath. But if newspapers were people, the New York Times would be at least as bad a psychopath for glorifying Galligan's behavior.
LSU administration as the (delusional) "woke" elite
Posted by Valcour on 12/26/20 at 12:20 pm
This article is about how delusional wokeness has taken over the ruling elite in the United States, but it is definitely applicable to the LSU administration, which has sold out academic standards and principles of fairness in order to appease the bigoted "anti-racism" interests on campus. The LSU administration is desperately in need of adults in the room but is woefully lacking. Recent actions relating to the proposal for a required course to appease "anti-racism" interests and to the imposition of racially discriminatory faculty hiring practices shows that the LSU administration is out of control on racial matters.

Divisive, identitarian ideas around race, gender and sexuality have of course been gaining ground in elite circles for some time. The idea that Western societies are not simply affected by bigotry, but defined by it and built on it, had been gaining ground in academia for decades.
The rise of campus censorship and student intolerance is in many respects an off-shoot of this ideology, which holds that words wound and that free speech and reason are just covers for white domination – and which seems to generate Salem-like hysteria among its adherents.
Incidentally, the problem is not limited to the LSU administration, though they deserve the biggest share of the blame. One of the big problems is with the LSU Board of Supervisors, which is also pushing the "diversity, inclusion, anti-racism" message to an extreme:

Advocate picks up the story about mandatory "anti-racism" class at LSU
Posted by Valcour on 12/23/20 at 10:51 pm
I see that the Advocate has picked up the story about the Faculty Senate proposal (supported by the LSU administration) to require all LSU students to take a mandatory "anti-racism" class offered by African and African American Studies (AAAS).
LINK
Note that the story also links to Rod Dreher's article from a few days ago that discusses the proposal to require the "anti-racism" class, as well as the imposition of racially-discriminatory faculty hiring practices mandated by the LSU administration.

These stories make clear that the LSU administration is out of control and that there needs to be outside intervention to prevent LSU from imposing these discriminatory policies.
