To be fair this more indicative of what football was like around 2022. Combine 3-4 years from now would paint a better picture of what today’s college football looks like.

He actually took over a pretty strong department. Spurrier had the football program as a top 10 team.

Baseball fall from grace was a horrible look considering he is a baseball legend, but football was on the decline before he could sink his claws in the program as AD. Usce was top ten his first year and like 7-6 his second year as ad. Hiring will muschamp was bad but that’s just being new on the job, he had a couple guys he wanted and no back up plan when they said no. Basketball was awful since Odom left outside of one final four run, and a nit run. Lamont Paris was a bad hand, up and comer almost wins the conference his second year and had bigger bball programs sniffing around looking to poach Paris, every AD makes that extension. He didn’t do great but he was put in a terrible spot for a guy without any experience.

I don’t think it does, I think you’re conflating the idea of ppl roasting lsu’s non rev sports with ppl roasting lsu fans for the “big 3” sports titles talk. Most lsu baseball threads are met with baseball talk. It’s all these arbitrary posts trying to put baseball on the same pedestal as football or men’s basketball. It’s met with resistance bc there really isn’t a big three. For some schools football baseball and men’s bball are the big three. For others it’s football men’s bball and hockey, or women’s bball football and men’s bball. Once you just announce a sport is big three ppl will wonder why you arbitrarily chose said sport. It’ll be met with well this has better ratings or this sport gets more donations. There is a definitive two then a grouping of baseball hockey softball and women’s bball that are roughly the same.
