re: LSU finds a judge

Well of course, we can all agree on that.
What I’m wanting is to keep the game tied to the colleges with rules that can be agreed upon and codified.

to allow them to now recruit players from the NFL.
It’s over fellows. Time to go our own way as Bear wanted to do.

I listen to the guy that is an attorney in Washington DC but I think he’s originally from Georgia. I don’t think he went to Georgia though. He is on Ryan Fowler‘s afternoon show and that’s where I hear him. But he also has a podcast and a YouTube channel. He really goes in depth with his takes and how he breaks down teams and players and matchups.

There may already be a deal, but the delay may be Alabama is trying to determine what the market value is with other top programs. Once they have comparables, they can then negotiate accordingly. At least I think that’s what I would do if it had to be done. But I wish that we could just stay traditional.

I was listening to Ryan Fowler on 100.9 The Game just now and Jumbo was on the radio who apparently used to wrestle. I thought maybe I could see a picture of him and I did a Google search and the following is what came up.
“The Alabama Crimson Tide "Jumbo Package": If you are thinking of a football player rather than a pro wrestler, the University of Alabama's football team is famous for using heavy, massive defensive linemen as blockers in short-yardage situations, universally referred to locally in Tuscaloosa as the "Jumbo Package".

I watched the game against California where they dominated. They are very sound. Way better defense than the University baseball team was this past season.

You beat me to it. Better you than me because I can’t get anything to post on this site but what I type. I can’t even give people a thumbs up. It does something weird when I try.
Anyway, let’s ROLL!

Keelon Russell has officially been named the starting quarterback from an article I just saw on Tide100.9. I would link it but I’m old and don’t know how to do that on this site.
re: What is your first Game memory of watching Alabama Football?
Posted by TideSwamper on 8/20/26 at 11:10 pm to bamabaum
“1970 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl. 24-24 tie with Oklahoma”
My first football memory is Joe Namath in the Super Bowl. I also remember my parents and one of my sisters watching The Bear Bryant Show.
Alabama in the Astro Bluebonnet Bowl against Oklahoma was the first game. I watched all the way through.
But what I remember most about the Oklahoma game was Alabama missed a game winning field goal when it was tipped and it went wide left.
My first in person game was Vandy at Bryant Denny Stadium in 1976. My father had passed away in November of 75. My cousin who was in college at UNA took me, I was in the 8th grade. He had gotten us two student tickets ($8.00 each). I remember one run by Johnny Davis that took 10 Vandy defenders get him down. Of all things to remember but I do, Vanderbilt had a pretty good play that happened right in front of the student section. I just happened to look at the cheerleader with the microphone (he was in my line of vision). He nodded several times as if to say alright, and started the following cheer:
“We can dig it yeah we can dig it… We’re Alabama yeah we can dig it.”
Why I can remember that I have no idea.

“Speaking of the UGA game, I got a little too tipsy last night and bought my wife and myself tickets to see Tosh.0 in Montgomery on October 10th.
I woke up this morning and realized it's the night of the Georgia game.”
If you haven’t told her then sell them. Or sell them anyway. She want be angry forever. But I’m not a marriage counselor. But I used to stay at Holiday Inn Express a lot until…
That’s all I got to say about that.

I agree about sitting along the baseline behind the goal. You are closer plus the action under the goal is right in front of you and it’s awesome to watch.

I was sitting in the club seats in the south end zone with all the students directly behind me when Nudie got hurt. I was watching the play through binoculars and knew on impact he was done. We were sitting right next to the ESPN camera guy. His shot of the play was the same as mine, but I had a much closer view. We were up 28-0 with most of the starters still in the game. Coaches doing that will be a debate as old as time. But Saban won seven championships and apparently took much neater team pictures I hear. So I guess I should defer to his judgment.

Musso and Hannah were playing on one leg in that game against Nebraska. Would not have mattered, but might not have been as bad.

I get my news right here on this website and from Ryan Fowler and Boomo Bug show up in Florence. Those are actually two good radio shows. I’m usually busy when Drew DeArmond’s show is on in Huntsville. But I will try to catch him if something big is about to happen or it is happening. Back in the late 80s and early 90s. I had the ultimate source. But that person is long gone in more than one way.
