I meant more along the lines of applying the 3 major concepts in the book to a real or hypothetical company since PtW borrows heavily from pre-existing topics/tools/theories, particularly Porter and Drucker amongst others, instead of simply summarizing the book. However, upon looking over the template yet again, this still most likely would not work. Despite the advice here, I still have no clue how to come up with a "theme" that would effectively weave every single topic/video listed in the template into a flowing, coherent thought. I'll probably just treat each section individually and reference separate sections sporadically to at least give the illusion of a 'theme.' Kinda frustrating, given that this course really isn't that difficult (just time-consuming). I mean I have well above a hundred right now, have a firm understanding of all concepts as well as how most of them inherently overlap despite being different schools of thought, but this isn't "clicking" at all.
As far as a concept that ties the course material together, would the other non-required (definitely required) 'textbook' fit the bill?
Unfortunately, I have not. From what I can tell, there are only about 3 posts out of all 358 pages that reference ISDS 715. None of those 3 give any significant information or insight into the class or professor(s).
Thanks for the advice, NSA! That's exactly what I had to do for Fall AP2. I'm just trying to figure out a contingency plan if my primary plan (MKT 701 for Spring AP1) doesn't pan out. I've seen advice such as take ISDS 702 before FIN as well as take ACCT before FIN so I was trying to see if there were any suggestions in that regard pertaining to my situation (classes left to take and my specialization). I know some people in here might subscribe to the "you're in a masters program, figure it out on your own" mindset, but that contradicts the whole point of this thread (in my opinion). There's nothing wrong with employing lessons learned by others, i.e. learning via modeling, in this program or in the business world.
By the way, that's an interesting username, especially the first half...
Also, Baroq, your reviews are very helpful!

That would be awesome (your generosity, not the class itself, haha)!
I'm currently in Meeks' class, trying to figure out how I'm going to write about 11,000+ words from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6.

I forgot to mention that I'm pursuing an entrepreneurship specialization with ISDS 715 as my 3rd elective. Again, any suggestions for Spring would be greatly appreciated!
So, I'm trying to choose the best way forward for the Spring sessions. I've finished MADM 701, and I'm about to wrap up MADM 760 and ISDS 705. I plan on taking at least 3 courses to remain full time for the semester. I wanted to go ahead and knock out MKT 701 as a single class for AP1 and then double up some combo for AP2. Currently, there are no AP1 MKT slots. Any suggestions from the veterans in here on what to potentially double up this session or next would be greatly appreciated!
Paytm has completely changed (expanded significantly) since that "journal article." I use the term loosely because it doesn't seem to be up to the same standard as just about any other journal article I've read. Ever.
I've also employed Google extensively to answer the endless Paytm questions, though most of that info is tenuous at best.
I have mixed emotions about the class, probably won't be able to give an answer one way or the other until it is over.

Thanks for the answer! I overdid it and put in about 30-40 hours a week in MADM 701, but that was largely because 701 was my first academic heavy course since I graduated in 2005 with a biology degree. Vast majority of my time, especially the last 3 weeks, was spent reading, taking the notes (as suggested, detailed and high volume), and studying for the exam. I made a list of EVERY single series or list in the chapter on a poster board (front and back completely filled for each chapter) and a corresponding acronym for each list. As a result, I scored really well on the tests but spent waaaayyyy too much time each week for just one class.
Awesome review GeauxUF!
I'll be joining you in Meeks' MADM 760 this session. I hope you are wrong about it potentially being more work than Williams' MADM 701! Luckily, I'm pairing it with Lin's ISDS 705. Quick question, I know you said you put in approximately 30-40 hrs a week in James' class, how many hours did you put in per week for MADM 701?

Greetings All! I just wrapped up MADM 701 with Professor Williams. I did fairly well in there, however, I feel I definitely put an inordinate amount of time into the course. I was hoping some of the veterans in here could compare workload (time spent each week) and difficulty between Williams' MADM 701 and MADM 760 with Dr. Meeks. I will also have ISDS 705 with Lin for AP2. Thank you in advance to anyone that is able to reply!
