It probably means nothing, but I went to the Military.finance website and I quickly noticed two spelling errors.

I'm most likely overthinking it, but with so many scams, etc. in crypto, anytime I notice something "off" I cringe a little bit.

I know it's been discussed previously in this thread...I've done some research on stablecoin lending (Nexo / Celsius, etc.)

It still seems a little "too good to be true"...what am I missing? If you have fiat sitting on the sidelines, you would just buy USDC / USDT, etc. and move to Nexo / Celsius and get 10%+. I know Nexo touts $375M of insurance (but at 1.5M+ users per their website that's only about $250 per user).

Has anyone here had their money in these accounts for a good amount of time? Any problems so far?



401k rollover from previous employer

I might be overcomplicating this, but I'm confused on the logic of a 401k rollover...

Say you have $100k in your employer 401k account that you've contributed over 'x' years, then you take a new job.

Everything I've read says you can either,

- Keep at previous employers plan
- Rollover to new employers plan
- Rollover to new IRA
- Cash out

Yet everything I read when you do any type of rollover...you are essentially "selling" your investments in your previous employer plan and then that money goes into your new employer plan / IRA as a lump sum (cash) for you to invest.

So in my example above, you have $100k worth of holdings in mutual funds, stocks, etc.

Now when you roll it over you have $100k in cash in your new plan...and would start buying whatever fund, stock, bond, ETF that you want.

So let's say the market gets back up to 29-30k, etc. when you roll it over...aren't you now "buying at the top", i.e. buying a whole bunch of securities at higher prices, meaning you are buying less of them, etc.

Aren't you losing the power of compounding in this scenario...and now are buying less with your money? I get that when you effectively "sell" when you roll it over you are realizing the gains you've made. But for whatever reason, I still can't reconcile if that makes sense or not.

I realize the answer is probably dead simple and I might be the biggest goofball for even asking, but I'm struggling with this lol.

Timely question, as I was about to post something similar.

Have an interview coming up and internal recruiter said that they are business casual, and I can feel free to dress comfortable.

I've never NOT worn a suit to an interview...just always seemed like the right thing to do.

Wasn't going to wear a suit (after recruiter said that), but was thinking about button down / tie, but this thread is making me 2nd guess.

Another thing I'm noticing is that when I look at some of these positions on LinkedIn, they already are showing 50-100+ applicants a few days into the posting.
Thanks for the responses so far. To answer your questions,

- Yes, I've had others look at my resume (and I have a pretty optimized LinkedIn profile as well). I'm sure I don't have the best looking resume in the world, but I haven't received any negative feedback.

- Anytime I've talked to someone or had to fill it out on the application, I've noted that I didn't need relocation.

- Regarding the addresses, on any application I fill out online, it makes me put in a home address....I've wondered if that's been an issue putting my out of state address but not sure how else to get around that. My resume doesn't show my current address, but I do have the city / state showing the places I worked (maybe that's my problem?).

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'll try and keep this as short as possible while giving the most background info.

Wife and I are looking to move out of state (either DFW or Phoenix area). Wife should be able to stay remotely at her company (others have done it), so we should be good there.

Problem seems to be me, :lol:. Currently in management at a Fortune 500 company (Accounting / Finance), been at same company for 12 years and worked my way up to current Mgr. role - 4.5 years.

About 1.5 months ago, I started applying to various roles in both cities (talked to and given my resume to some recruiters as well). I'd say 90% of the roles I've applied for are lateral roles (Manager), 5% Sr. Mgr and 5% Director.

So far, I've had 1 callback with a phone interview with CFO in Phoenix (very small company)...went great, he was ready to fly me out there for in person interview but wanted to talk money first...we were too far apart so we went our separate ways (no hard feelings on either end).

Also had a recruiter from another company call about a role I applied for - Phoenix again (said company outsources their recruiting to a 3rd party), recruiter said role probably wouldn't pay enough and I was above it (her words, not mine). Said there was a higher level role she thought I would be a good fit for, but they wanted a CPA (I don't have that, have a Master's degree). Haven't heard back, so I'm assuming they didn't bite (again, no problems there, not overly concerned with one particular role, etc.).

I've even tried to cold email a handful of hiring managers, tailored some cover letters based on the company and tailored my resume for most of the jobs I've applied to based on the job description (all 100% factual, just highlighting certain things based on what they are looking for).

Big picture is....has anyone done this recently and had similar issues? If so, did you do anything different? While I didn't expect to be flooded with calls / emails, I'm somewhat surprised I've received so little response (especially applying in 2 huge cities with the DFW market supposedly "hot"). I've probably applied in upwards of 60-70 roles in the past 1.5 months, plus multiple recruiters having my resume.
