When I started this mine were 1700, after chemo, radiation, whipple they were down to 16 (in February) then they started climbing 39, then 80 and two weeks ago 380 - that's when they knew it was back

So sorry to hear this. I started at about 2100 and was down to 98 in February. I was back up to 540 during my last trip to Houston in June. The positive is the lesions in liver did not show up on CT, and the primary in the pancreas was stable. But, it may have infiltrated the stomach lining. I am going to get a PET on my next visit in August.

I just got notified in FB there is going to be an organized event to raise money at City Park in NOLA in November for Pancreatic Cancer. I have marked my calendar and will have you to walk for as well now.
lovelsu, I am approaching one year since my diagnosis with stage IV. Since I had mets to the liver I was not a candidate for the whipple. I was given 6-9 months initially. I have responded fairly well to chemo, however they had to change my regimen recently since my tumor marker was starting to go up. I try not to focus on the bad side of this horrible disease, but keep hope alive some kind of breakthrough treatment will surface.

It sucks this cancer has such a low survival rate, but I read stories of those who make it. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the fight and hold onto the hope a treatment option becomes available that puts your cancer in remission.

You have this man. The absolute worst is the first 72 hours. Not saying it gets is a walk in the park after, but your flu-like symptoms will start to minimize. Hang in there.

What's up with the yawning? Is that a common "symptom"?

It is very common. Opioids have some weird side effects when you detox.

I'm very sorry to hear, I retract my previous statement, I spoke without all the facts.

No worries my man. I was not offended in any way shape or form. I left a lot out. It's all good. We are all here to support our fellow poster in his fight to overcome his addiction.

Sorry to here that bro.. I hope the best for you.. And yeah at your point I wouldn’t think twice about taking the meds. It just got way out of hand with me..

Thanks man. You have quite the list of chronic pain causers yourself. Very brave thing to catch yourself before you got further down the rabbit hole. With support and the willpower you are showing, you will conquer this in short order.

This right here.

I was trying to be cleverly vague. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer a year ago. I didn't want to turn the attention in this thread away from the subject at hand. You are correct though and I don't want to minimalize addiction.
Good luck to you. I was recently on high dose of Morphine and weaned off it. Had withdrawals (runny nose, body aches, fatigue, etc.) for about 72 hours. It does not sound like you were taking a ton of pills, but it still is no easy task to stop. I wish you much success.

I'm now on hydrocodone and will be for most likely a long time. As my doctor put it for my situation addiction is the least of my worries. I'm just counting the days until September gets here and medicinal marijuana goes live.
