re: We ever get a softball coach?

I can't believe we are settling for a coach like Torina. I know for a fact that LSU officials called Ga. Tech and was given permission to talk to Perkins, but never called her for an interview.

Perkins was very interested in the position and made that known to LSU officials both before and after the Murphy debacle. I can't see for the life of me why you wouldn't at least interview Perkins.

Perkins was named ACC Coach of the Year the last 3 seasons, Torina was Sunbelt Coach of the Year once.

Compare the two biographies and you tell me who is more qualified.

Sharon Perkins

Beth Torina
They will probably go after an established head coach. That seems to be Alleva's hiring preference.
If we want a proven winner then this should be our coach and we won't have to break the bank to hire her. LINK

Yep. She played and coached at Nicholls under Lu Harris and followed her to USM and Georgia before her current position. After reading her bio, she seems like a good fit.

Also, Alleva has ties to ACC from Duke and the AD at Ga Tech was at LSU before. Not sure what effect that will have on the search but it is interesting.

a certain ACC softball coach whose been successful in post-season play and has ties to Louisiana. She's young and energetic and her teams can hit.
