No. You are either uninformed or lying. Both are par for the course for your ilk though.

Whatever you say.

The committee's vote to release the memo spearheaded by Chairman Devin Nunes means that the four-page classified document could be made public this week. But in another party-line vote, the committee voted against making a competing Democratic memo from Rep. Adam Schiff of California available as well.

quote:

That’s a fricking lie. The minority report (is it even written yet) has to go through the same channels as the other memo.

Huh? Yes it is written and Nunes and crew voted "no" to released it alongside their memo.

quote:

The FBI would never disparage something that shows them as being corrupt partisan hacks. Wake the frick up idiot.

Ah! Conspiracy. Of course.

Again . Focus on the truth and not the deconstruction of the truth. That is Their game.

Do you not see the irony in this statement?

The president just refused to implement Russian sanctions. Sanctions that passed 98-2 in the senate - I think it only got 3 no votes in the House. So his buddy, Nunes (who was on the transition team) initiated this 2 week "bombshell" as a distraction - so now we're talking about this.

Hats of to Trump for his ability to control the media narrative, but to what end?
quote:

If this FBI/DOJ debacle doesn't bring out the truth with those on the left, absolutely nothing will.

This FBI/DOJ debacle....as described by Devin Nunes whose committee denied the minority's report to be released ...whose own memo has been described by the FBI as "misleading and containing omissions that impact the memo's accuracy".

You didn't answer my question

I did the best I could. Too many words to type on a phone for a complicated hypothetical. All I can say is I’m on the side of truth and transparancy.

Spying based on the word of ones enemies with zero ability to rebut

This assumes the ONLY reason behind the warrant was the dossier. The “memo” would seem to indicate that, but the memo has been criticized for being misleading and incomplete. I seriously doubt that would be the only evidenc on Carter Page - who had already been under surveillance for years.

Bottom line: We need more info.
quote:

You are taking the position that what the memo describe is ok if true?

It depends.

As I heard it put yesterday: If I'm cooking meth in my kitchen and my neighbor calls the cops on me, I don't get to say "but my neighbor hates me because I cook meth".

The key would be the veracity of the information in the dossier: some of which has been confirmed. And some has not. To my knowledge, none has been discredited.
quote:

If the underlying docs show the memo to be accurate, what will your stance be?

I seriously doubt that given Nunes' history (the unmasking fiasco) and the FBI's statement on it.

quote:

With regard to the House Intelligence Committee’s memorandum, the FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to release it. As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.

But sure, I'm all about the truth. If there is corruption in the FBI, DOJ, etc. I want it exposed.
a. What wrongdoing? The memo didn't even make the case for wrongdoing.

b. I'll assume (for the sake of time) this wrongdoing is - the warrant shouldn't have been granted based on the Steele dossier. There was almost certainly more evidence supporting it (per media reports for over a week). Evidence that was left out of the hyper-partisan 4 page memo that was cherry-picked from a 50-some odd page document.

The FBI statement on Nunes' memo:
quote:

With regard to the House Intelligence Committee’s memorandum, the FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to release it. As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.

Let's see what's in the other memo before jumping to conclusions.
quote:

You really don't find any wrongdoing on the sort of the FBI after reading the memo?

It's a memo authored by someone who was on the Trump transition team. Hardly a reliable source. Let's see what the other memo says before jumping to conclusions.

quote:

We know who the real nazis are

Sounds very O.J. Simpson-ey.
quote:

You've come out in open favor of political spying using the intelligence apparatus

In what way? What are you talking about?

Is this about "the memo". It's been roundly discredited as hyper-partisan, incomplete and very misleading. I mean: Devin Nunes (who worked on the Trump transition team) was behind it. Hardly unbiased. Although having watched Fox News for 15 minutes last night, I understand why many of you don't know that.

Wait until the other memo comes out to make such judgements.
Remember this story?

Michael Flynn 'promoted US-Russian nuclear project from White House'

quote:

US congressional investigators are examining whether Michael Flynn, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, secretly promoted a plan by private business interests to build US-Russian nuclear power plants in the Middle East while he was serving in the White House.

The retired three-star general, who once led a chant of “lock her up” against Hillary Clinton at the Republican national convention, has emerged as a central figure in multiple investigations into possible collusion between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign.

Among startling new details unearthed by investigators working for a congressional committee is that the nuclear power plan Flynn was allegedly secretly promoting, during the campaign and once he joined the White House, involved a Russian state-owned company currently under US sanctions.

They are also examining whether the proposal is still being promoted by the Trump administration, months after Flynn was forced out of his role.

Do you think the media made that up?
But Flynn pleaded guilty.

Why blame the media?
