LSUnFL - I was anxious too when I started as I hadn't gone to school since 1991. My advice is to read the comments here as you are doing and decide what course fits your current schedule. The MADM courses tend to have a few chapters of reading, a test, and an essay due each week, with sometimes a comment board to which you must post one short comment and then comment on other's posts. I work full-time and spent about 15 hours a week studying. If you read at lunch it makes it easier. The Finance and Econ courses take as much time as you need to understand the subject matter for the week.

I wanted to ask everyone...where is a good place to stay in Shreveport if participating in a graduation ceremony?

Hey Luke,
I'm in my 4th class, almost half-way there. I know others are much more knowledgeable, but I appreciate your response and hope to help more as I get more experience in the program myself.

Thanks Paul. I am hoping ISDS gets assigned a good professor as it's tbd right now.

For future reference, I've read that ECON 705 has a lot of Excel work with calculus included. Doesn't Excel do the work for you if you know the formulas/inputs? I used Excel and online formulas for FIN 701 and was able to skip the math so I'm hoping it's the same.

I've tried to read some posts here to see if Econ 705 or ISDS 705 takes more of my time, and it seems Econ would? I'd like to take a few days off after the first week of Spring AP2 and am trying to figure which of the two classes would accommodate that. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

I took Mkt 701 with James and Fin 701 with Vines. If you work full time I wouldn't recommend the double. I spent 15 hours a week on Mkt and 10-15 on Fin. James had us write something each week plus a attend a group project that met each week. That took a lot of my time, and then I had to read 2 chapters for the tests.
For Fin, others may find it easier that I did. What I did was take the notes Vines gave us and then add everything to them - formulas, examples, definitions...it made the quizzes easier as they were open book/note. You need to write all the answers in your own words while using his definitions and the text definitions. Figuring out the problems took me a lot of time too as I wanted to know how to recognize them on the tests.
