Hi again.... OK, I’m totally confounded. The BAYER website does not show a split. Amount is in Euro (E 117.) which converts to approx. $137.00 USD
LINK

This is from the email I received back from my bank in Germany last week regarding the shares I hold there:

I checked the Bayer share and the latest developments. So far I could not see such a sharp plunge as you described in your Email. I also could not find information regarding a split 4:1. At the moment it is all o.k. as you have seen yourself when checking your securities account with us. What I suppose is that either your stock tracker is not working properly or you have possibly saved the wrong Bayer-ISIN. The correct ISIN is: DE000BAY0017. The share price is currently at 112,20 EUR per share (28.09.2017, 11:46 German time).

If one of you who now has 4x the amount of shares at 1/4 the price can confirm the ISIN he mentioned above, I would appreciate it. (not sure what that is or how to check it). Thanks!
As I said, my shares & my broker are in Germany where Bayer is headquartered. I haven't heard back regarding the possible ticker/symbol change, but there is absolutely nothing on the company's web page about a split. You will see that the price (as of Sept. 28) is 112 Euro per share, which is approx $131.94 USD. If a company this big had split so greatly (4:1) you'd think there would be plenty of news about it not only on their own website, but in all the financial news.
Try adding BAYZF to your tracker. It came up correctly, though without any news or info on my freebie Real Time Stocks Tracker on the iPhone/pad. Yes, gave me a heart attack too lol. Will see if German broker has any explanation for it and/or possible symbol change. Question - if you're trading on a US exchange - - do you get dividends yearly (as is normal in Germany) or quarterly (as is normal in the US)? And if you get any answers to this mystery, please post. I only joined this site because your post came up in a search about the mysterious "split". Thanks!
I've held Bayer for over 6 years, and I too was shocked to see it had dropped 90% overnight! I googled and searched and went directly to their investor website...and NOTHING. Total panic. My shares are actually held in Germany not the USA, but I called my US broker and though she has nothing to do with my Bayer shares, nor has any clients with Bayer shares, she was nice enough to help. She finally found this :LINK

OK, fine. Yay, nice split (though there was no recent record of other splits in recent history on the corporate website...and the stock has been higher). So, I waited a few days and checked my account. Like you, my account did not reflect the additional shares nor the new $33 or whatever the new amount was that was showing on my stock tracker or other financial sites. It still had the same amount of shares and the equivalent amount in Euros of the previous US close. I checked again last night and still the same. So, I wrote to the bank in Germany. My broker there replied that he did research and that there was no such split. He then gave me the stock ID number to look up and said that our stock trackers must be wrong, because if the stock had split - it would have split across all markets that traded it world wide. It's quite a mystery - but I think I may have solved it. Somewhere along the line when I googled "BAYRY stock split" I came across a site that said there was no such symbol - EVEN THOUGH all the stock watch sites including Yahoo and Marketwatch, etc. use that symbol and it reflects a $33.36 close today (Sept. 28, 2017). I haven't had any luck putting it in my tracker yet, but if you google BAYER stock symbol US markets you get this and the current price reflecting NO split. Also can find it under BAYER.F. Or BAYER.Z. I'm not sure how or why or if the ticker symbol changed.... I will write German broker and ask. But bottom line is that there is NO split and it's still trading around the $130 range as it was last week. LINK
That's a rude thing to say. I've been investing for over twenty years and have held Bayer stock for 6 years. I, too was very confused by this. See my reply to the original question.
