That's my point though. The teams that could give him that money without any worries are the yanks and Dodgers and their brands are very strong as is. They don't need one marquee player to draw fans like other teams might...

Yeah but MLB local tv deals are locked in for like 20 years so that money will still be coming in and the ESPN money is also locked in for a while...

You can look at actual metrics and determine who the better pitcher is. Mad Bum has had brilliance in the playoffs which Kershaw hasn't but over their careers and this season the better pitcher is Kershaw...
