Should have been an 8 team playoff. Leave Tech, Oklahoma, and the kids table teams out and have a smaller bracket instead of adding other undeserving teams.

It's a culture problem for sure. No sarcasm, I can't imagine a Saban team or a Smart team just not showing up for a bowl even if it's less than what their goals were.

Late stage BCS was peak College Football. Every week was the playoffs. Every bowl game was for the pride of the conference. Every frickup was celebrated by the rest of the entire country.

Bowl games are meaningless is what people say when they lose or aren't invited.
