re: My thoughts on Trubisky

One thing I noticed about him is that if he has a short route and a long route available to him, he almost always chooses the long route.
He rarely checks down to his safety outlet receiver. He’s like Rex Grossman 2.0.
Yep. This.
They have a rare talent in Montgomery, but they didn't use him. 3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out. Montgomery comes in, 2 touches, 1st down. Then they pull him for he rest of the quarter! I don't understand!
Then, like you said, Montgomery is standing behind the defensive line with no one in sight for 15 yard, holding his hands out for a check down pass, nope. Trubisky airs it out into no man's land.
Pathetic. One day, there will be a team that will benefit from the use of Montgomery....

I was listening to "Fantasy Baby" today on spotify (local fantasy football podcast (couple guys from Baton Rouge do like 2 shows a week)), and the Co-host was saying that he thought AB was a poison to the Raiders and that if you drafted him on your fantasy team you should bench him. He was adamant that his antics would carry over onto the field and his production would be low. The host seemed to disagree and there was a little fun back and forth. The co-host, "Junior" is going to rub this one in his buddies face on their next show!

He is doing work for me now. Building my steps on my home. He has a crew that does the work. He mostly supervises their work.
Thank you! Could you possibly let me know how the finished product turns out and whether or not you'd recommend him? I would appreciate the info so very much!
Thanks again!

Ya after you edited your post. you asked the board if they wanted to bid on a project without giving a location at first.
Again sir, you are incorrect. My original post requested information regarding the very specific brick mason mentioned above. I then went on to say that if anyone wanted to bid on any other aspect of the home regarding their particular trade that I would be more than happy to have them do just that.
Again, at no point in time did I request a bid regarding brick.
However, let's pretend I did. Let's pretend for a moment that I requested a bid on brick and God forbid, I forgot to mention my location. Don't you think it would've been much more productive to just say "Where will the house be built?" as opposed to a smartass comment of "How's 350 sound."?
What did you accomplish with that comment? Did you find out where the house would be built? Did you contribute in some way to the whole of the conversation? Did you feel enlightened?
I'm going to flip it around for ya buddy. You are looking for a bid on bricking your house (remember, that's not what I was looking for. We are still pretending that what you said is correct.). So, you come onto this forum and you ask for a bid on bricking your home. I just so happen to be a brick mason (I'm not, but we're still pretending in case you're having trouble following). I see your post requesting a bid for brick and I know where I live, but I see you didn't list your location. Hmmmmmm, what do I do now? Oh, I know:
You: I'd like a bid on bricking my home.
Me: Where will the home be built?
You: New York City (I'm just assuming because of your lack of social skills.)
Me: I'm too far away. Sorry I couldn't be of help. Good luck.
See buddy. That's how that's supposed to work.

I asked you no such thing sir. I asked if anyone has had any dealings with a brick mason by the name of Jules Dunn. I didn't ask you for a brick layer. I didn't ask for recommendations for a brick layer. I asked about one very particular brick mason and whether or not anyone used him before. Why is my location necessary for this?

Look man, if you know it all and are ready to go...you came to the wrong place. If you legitimately want advice and to gain some knowledge, we’re here to help.
I do not know it all, and never claimed to. I legitimately came here to ask if anyone ever dealt with a specific brick layer. I also extended an invitation to the community to bid on projects within their specific trade wheelhouse. I don't see how this became so complicated for everyone.

You seem way behind the ball if you’re planning to contract this thing yourself.
Why? Because I asked if anyone here would like to make some extra money? I have lists and lists of subs in each trade, all with estimates, awaiting final plans to give accurate bids. I don't see how I'm behind the ball because I asked my peeps on tigerdroppings if anyone else would like to bid....

Hate to break it to you, but you are multiple months away from breaking ground on this home, My guess would be 4 months.
You would be incorrect sir. House was staked out yesterday. Dirtwork to begin Monday. With compaction testing included, should be done in a week. (All of this part is being cash flowed.) I'm good with the bank as long as I don't have any materials deliver and no foundation is poured. Dirtwork is fine with them. I don't see how it will be 4 months before I pour a slab...

Walker. I did visit the suppliers and I did get a list of bricklayers/masons. I'm asking if anyone has had any experience with this particular mason, Jules Dunn.

You should have been talking to contractors before now finding out what their times frames and upcoming work situation looks like for their availability when you need them--------------at least get a ballpark idea.
Then check their work through references, make sure they're licensed and insured, etc.
You have a lot of homework to do if breaking ground in a month for a new house.
I have been talking. I do have time frames. I've checked their references. I just need this last one, Jules Dunn. He advised that 2 weeks of notice in October/November and he can have a crew on my house. Thanks.

Man, you guys are something else. My final plans are due back to me on the 23rd. I have been working on this for the past 6 months and have estimates on every aspect of the build from every trade. They are all awaiting the final plans to give an accurate bid.
I even have the brick mason lined up. You know, the one I asked about. He was able to bid from the preliminary drawings since nothing will change when it comes to the brick for him. I was asking if anyone ever had any dealings with the guy. Of course, no one answered that question. I wouldn't expect any less.
I really came here to ask about Jules Dunn and if anyone had any experience with him. But, looks like the keyboard warriors won't be answering that question.
Not like I have to, but since it seems so funny to people to break ground next month, I'll put it in perspective. My draftsman gave my surveyor the info for the placement of the house and driveway. He staked it out yesterday. My dirt guy will get started on the house pad and driveway on Monday (I'm cash flowing this). I have a friend who is a bank manager and he advised me that once I give him my cost breakdown (I have) and my final plans, he could have me going in 5 to 7 business days. I have a plumber and electrician lined up but that I have not committed to necessarily because the final plans are not in yet. But, yeah, I think with the housepad being completed this month, I'm pretty sure I can get a slab poured next month.
I just figured that while I was here, I would offer up to this wonderful community that I'm a part of, an opportunity to make some extra scratch if they wanted it.
But, thanks for nothing guys.

re: Gas vs Electric Water Heater, HVAC

I'm also building at the moment. The guy who drew my home, along with many, many friends and family, advised me to have gas in any place that I can have it. Dryer, range, water heaters...I even dropped a bibb outside to boil crawfish with using the bayou boiler. I've been told gas is more efficient and more cost effective.
However, when it comes to the furnace, my AC buddy who has been doing HVAC work for 30 years recommended an air to air heat pump with electric backup...

I've edited this question since everyone ignored the actual question and instead decided they knew everything about my current situation.
My question is: "Has anyone ever had any dealings with a bricklayer by the name of Jules Dunn?"
Thanks to anyone who actually answers that question. I appreciate you.

How high did you have to build up for your house pad? How much did it cost you, using your own dirt?

Where you can save is paying vendors with a rewards credit card and paying your card off every month with loan draw. After building my last house I didn't pay for a plane ticket on SW for 2 years doing this, and we flew quite a bit.
That's genius! Thanks for the tip. What bank did you work with?

There are plenty around here that will do cost +10%. Is that 10% savings worth the 6 months of headaches and high prices you're going to deal with working with subs?
For $30,000.00 in savings, I would most definitely deal with subs and headaches for 6 months. That's just a snapshot in time when it comes to the big scheme of things. And, that's literally paying myself $5,000 per month! Headaches be damned.
