Leasing a car with a 60-mile daily commute
Posted by evnoob on 11/10/14 at 4:22 pm
Hello All,
I'm moving soon to Florida where I will be working in Tampa and living in Orlando. I will be actually working on-site twice a week. And my commute is actually 140 miles roundtrip (so 56 miles a day).
I've never owned a car before because leasing made sense to me in NYC. But I'm thinking I might not be taking the most reasonable option financially-wise this time. The typical mileage allowance in leases is 12k annually and the max I have seen so far is 15k. I'll probably be using 13440 of that just for my commute, so I'm left with only 130 miles per month for non-work trips.
I'm not sure if 15k will be enough for me and not sure what other options I have aside from leasing? Has anyone been in similar situation?
Thanks!
