re: We can get mad at DeBoer but Ballou is why the program is falling.

There's really no reason to defend Ballou. Early in the season, people tried to say "Yes, the team is soft, but look at how healthy the team stays." That take didn't really hold up to scrutiny if you looked at injuries from prior years under Ballou, but it really looks comical this year.
People get taken in by his talk about sports science. You tell people you're an expert and using a cutting edge system and most are unable to question that. But his brand of sports science relies entirely on data derived from a statistical method called magnitude based inference. People like Ballou reach all of their conclusions based on data derived from MBI, but when tested, MBI is fraught with false positives. Here's an article in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise demonstrating that MBI has an error rate up to six times higher than standard null hypothesis testing: LINK
Of course, you don't have to read or understand any of that to see that Ballou's methods aren't working. You can just look at the huge dropoff in development we've seen this decade, the way Alabama is visibly weaker than every power conference team they face, and the lengthy weekly injury reports.

Indiana looks like a complete team. T tech not bad either
I watched Indiana and thought they looked very well coached but lacking in personnel. Their talent composite is ranked somewhere in the 70s.

Alright. Then your post was unbelievably retarded.

Ty is also a turnover machine just like Milroe
Simpson has 4 interceptions and 6 fumbles on the season, that's 10 turnovers. Milroe had 11 turnovers in his last three games alone. Simpson has been terrible recently but you bumping this is unbelievably retarded.
Anyone who ever defends Milroe for any reason should never share any thoughts on football.

Really wasn't a good game. Georgia just spanked us. Our defense played with guts, that's the only part of the team I think deserves your compliment.

Ty missed several critical throws tonight. He cost us the game.
He was terrible, but costing us the game implies we would have won just changing him. The reality is the entire offense got its arse kicked. Porous offensive line, tons of drops, irrelevant running backs.

Notre Dame's schedule had two difficult games, both of which they lost. The rest has been a G5 tier schedule.

But Def he meant defense which has gotten better
Oh, you're right, he probably meant Defense. Most interpreted "def" to mean definitely. The defense has gotten better each week, that's true. Same thing happened last season.

No one else on the team has even attempted a field goal. It may just be that the backups are even worse.

I think this coaching search saga with Kiffin teasing everyone on social media should put to rest any takes about how he's matured.

Sorry bud, your boy Milroe ain’t coming back
You don't understand. If Milroe has half as many interceptions as completions, that's on playcalling, the receivers, the offensive line, really everyone involved in the program except for Milroe. If Simpson is quarterback for a two point loss in a game where Bama missed a chip shot field goal, he bears sole responsibility.

You hear a lot about Spurrier and Saban not working out in the pros. Has there even been a mainly NFL coach to have success in college? Bill Walsh won three Super Bowls, but was only ten games above .500 in college. Lovie Smith was the NFL coach of the year in 2005 and went to a Super Bowl, but in college he went 17-39. We all know about Bill Belichick.
re: Pete Golding makes me sick (not that this matters)
Posted by CrimsonCrusade on 11/21/25 at 6:48 pm to Vulcan Materials
I believe that Saban probably has at least two more titles if he doesn't hire Golding. It took the greatest offense in college football history to win the one title they got with Golding, because there were two games that year (Ole Miss and Florida) where his unit didn't manage to force a punt. And remember that Golding also embarrassed the university off the field with multiple DUI arrests and his dad calling into Finebaum to challenge a fan to a fistfight. He was a total disgrace in every way.
By the way, Auburn should interview Golding for their head coach opening.

We have won 9 of 17 at Auburn since 1989
How are you getting that?
Bama won in 1999, 2001, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2021, 2023. Lost in 1989, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017, 2019. That's 7 wins and 10 losses.

USC beating Oregon would cause some chaos and put us in a 3-way battle between two 10-2 teams, and a 10-3 Alabama that, again, had to play an extra game.
If Oregon loses that game, they should drop out of the top 15. So far they've played one ranked team, and they lost at home in a game that was really never in doubt.

Sounds like it’s going to be 2005 all over again.
In 2005, Alabama had the fewest scholarship players in major college football. Auburn was in its golden age because it was picking up tons of players who would have gone to Alabama barring sanctions - they entered the game at #11 and it wouldn't surprise me if they were favored. That era was contingent on a very specific set of circumstances that we're never seeing replicated again, so it's ridiculous to keep trotting it out as a metaphor for the present.
This will be a tough game because Auburn has three weeks to prepare. But while it's often said that Alabama never beats a good Auburn team, when was the last time that Alabama lost to a truly terrible Auburn team like this one? 2003 Auburn went 8-5, which seems to be the worst record they've had in a season where they beat Alabama since at least before Bear Bryant.
