So where around the stadium do u stumble up free or cheap tickets?
I've usually grabbed them a little further from the stadium from tailgaters around campus. Twice last season, in response to a friendly "hello", I was asked if I had good seats. I said I had no seats, and walked away with lower-bowl tickets both times (Auburn & Texas A&M--bad weather games).
Monitoring the ticket exchange on this site on gameday is also a good strategy that's led to free or cheap tickets in the past. Otherwise, around the PMAC side and some of the larger tailgating zones you will usually meet someone with an extra ticket or two. Dress your two daughters in head-to-toe purple and gold and you'll meet lots of new friends, some of whom will have spare tickets or know someone who does.
Good luck, Geaux Tigers!

When I bring my little ones, I park (for free) behind Parker Coliseum off Stadium Drive and walk to the stadium. We always get invited to stop by a few tailgates on the way. Definitely see Mike and the players march to the stadium, and the band, too. Generally that's a good area to hang out with kids; there will be lots and lots of kids playing on the hill in front of the mass comm building.
Especially for non-conference games, I go without tickets in hand. As often as not I've picked up free tickets, other times, grabbed em for $10 a pop.
Have fun!
