Yeah, the only major difference in our defensive performances was that UGA got a fair amount of pressure on Mett. LSU couldn't do anything there which is bizarre because I still think LSU has a strong DLine.
I remember a couple years ago at the same intersection after an LSU v UGA baseball game, I saw a group of Tigers fans. I was wearing a UGA rugby uniform as we'd just had a match too, but gave them a Go Tigers anyway.

They were confused as hell for a second, but gave it back
I believe that has been confirmed. Dual guest pickers will be Bubba Watson and Willie Robertson (form Duck Dynasty).
This is exactly how it's going to happen: Corso will go on about how great Gurley is and how well Murray is playing. He will go on about how great it is to be in Athens and all that jazz. Then he will say, "but! The Bulldogs let me down last time I picked them..." And he'll pull out the Tiger head. Then he may have a stroke...
Sick, bro. I too "despises" some things (generally more important than football), and I look forward to watching the game on UGA's "I wn" field. Btw, that was 2005 bud.
Just saw two older gentleman in LSU shirts walking down broad. Wonder if that was you then...
I don't disagree that the west is stronger as a unit, but I don't see why you would suppose that UGA individually would not be a contender in the West. shite, they were four yards from beating Bama in a bigger game in a neutral venue. That's arguably closer than LSU got. I do wish UGA consistently played tougher West opposition though. I believe they were meant to play Bama last year but Mizzou joined and screwed that up.
To be fair, the article had a lot of discrepancies. For starters we do not have 18,000 student seats reserved. That is simply wrong. It's closer to 16,000, so I'm wary of trusting anything the writer says if they can't get something that simple correct. Second, the photo they used for the story is a cropped photo of our overflow student section. The crowd was pretty good for a rainy day against a rent-a-win. Third, I never got the impression that she conducted some extensive survey to discover that a lot of students don't go to games because of cell-phone service. As far as the article tells us she asked one student. I'm not trying to say that attendance isn't down, and that we don't need to seek some sort of solution; but I would suggest that the problem is not as bad as some of you would like to think.
UGA is trying all kinds of things to fix it. They just took 2,000 seats away from students and gave them to "young alumni." They also dispense punitive measures for missing games. That is, if you do not donate your ticket to another student before the game and miss it (you have to do it 3 times though), you're ineligible for away game tickets in the future. You may even be given lower priority for home games, I'm not sure. But honestly they should give out more student tickets and use some sort of statistical projection to determine how many students will come. I know plenty of folks that didn't get full season packages that would love to be at the games.

Response rap was definitely way better. In our defense, we made another one for Bama last year that was at least a lot catchier.

That's right. Clark Central. It's between Milledge and Baxter St. Not too far from the stadium.
Ha, I would have no problem saying that as I love LSU just as much as UGA. What I'm saying is that you were wrong.
UGA won in 2004 in Athens, 2005 in Atlanta, 2008 in BR. So...4 out of the last 7. Pretty even.
Fair enough. I don't do it often. Thanks for the tip.
Sure thing. I'm not sure what would be faster from Perimeter Center. 316 is definitely more of a straight shot, just depends on traffic.

By the way, here is a parking map: LINK for gameday. This actually says that a lot of the parking is free, which I did not realize, but then again it's not usually a concern of mine. North Deck on S Jackson will be your best bet location wise, though it will be crowded i'm sure (first come-first serve, you should be fine i think). That will be the most convenient if you want to see the cool parts of campus (ie, North Campus)and it's right by the downtown area.
You should leave 8:00 AM, 9:00 at the latest. I'm a student at UGA, my family came up for the SCar game around 10:00 am and had no problems, but you might as well enjoy as much of the day as you can. As a side note, if you live north of Atlanta closer to Duluth, I find that it is often faster on game days if you take 85 to Jefferson (exit 137) and come to over that way instead of dealing with 316. Really depends though.

There is UGA parking for $20 close-ish to the stadium in North Deck (right off broad on Jackson Street) or Carlton Street Deck by the the Stegeman basketball stadium. There is free parking (as I recall) at the IM fields, which will be closest to you if you come in off 316. This will require you to take a shuttle, however, if you don't feel like walking a mile or so. It will be tough to get out of town quickly wherever you park.

For lunch: Everywhere downtown will be crowded, so I would probably try to get to lunch by 11:30 or 12:00 at the latest. The good thing about Athens, however, is that there is no shortage of restaurants. The two major downtown streets (for restaurants anyway) are Broad and Clayton and you'll find all kinds of stuff (and all kinds of prices) along there. Fuzzy's is a personal favorite of mine, its a Tex-Mex type of thing, but very cool spot.

I hope that helps.

It would be very tough to arrange that. It's certainly not uncommon for bars to rent space in Athens, but not really on game days. Especially for a game like this one. They're most likely going to make a lot more money with the game day traffic coming in and out than renting space out to a group of fans (whether they be LSU or UGA fans).

That said, it never hurts to call and ask. But for the most part, all the bars have televisions. You may be better off going to a bar/restaurant type place (Mellow Mushroom's, Fuzzy's, Herschel's) if you don't want to stand up the whole time. Not much seating in a lot of the bars. But anyways, I hope that was helpful.
