I commuted from Ellis County for 0ver 30 years, half of it to Mesquite and half to Irving. For me it was about 45 minutes each way if there were no issues. Another poster alluded, or is it eluded?, (re: O/T) to the fact that Ellis County is growing and that is true. So is every other location that has been mentioned. But when I got home I was a long way from Irving and rarely left Ellis County for shopping, meals, etc.

Colleyville is nice, not a bad town at all. More burbs, but nicer less cookie cutter.
