We will be in the area with our 3 kids (7, 5, 2) and are considering spending a day visiting Kennedy Space Center. Do the Travel Guides of the Travel Board have any thoughts or recommendations for our visit?

While it very family and kid friendly just use your judgment with your 5 and 7 year old whether they are into space exploration enough to spend a full day there. It is about a 50/50 split on “attractions” and just looking at artifacts like a regular museum and I could certainly see some kids that age getting bored with it.

Also if you plan to be in the area for a few days and are looking to do some non Disney/Universal stuff look into the Orlando Go City Pass. The Space Center is included as well as Lego Land and a lot of other fun family stuff. If you can dedicate 2-3 days to doing stuff on the pass it can save you a lot on admissions.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis Film/Experience at the visitor center is well worth it.

One of the best experiences of my life as in most fun was sitting outside at Kennedy watching shuttle take off. Just frigging amazing.

If you can catch a rocket launch if they even do that anymore it is well worth the price of
Admisssion

Kids that age will get a kick out of going to Ron Jon and buying some t-shirts and stickers.

Also try Seafood Atlantic restaurant on the north tip of the island near the cruise terminal. Really good fish tacos and such. Fresh stuff from the ocean, not the fried bar food tourist traps like most places around there.
