Vieques or Culebra?

I'll be visiting Puerto Rico for work and would like to stick around for a few days after. I'm thinking I want spend those few days on Vieques or Culebra.
I'm more into adventure than relaxing, so I'd want to explore the island, do some hiking, walk around town, check out the beaches, etc.
I know nothing about either of these islands other than they are close to PR and you can get there by ferry or plane. Any recommendations or tips from someone who has been there?

both are beautiful..
and both long kept "secrets" of the cruising crowd.
i've sailed the area... but never stayed on shore.
i'm guessing culebra is more easily accessed..since i say a regular ferry service (we hardly saw anyone on south of vieques)
isla culebrita immediately east of culebra might be the most perfect anchorage ive personally seen.
the mosquito bay on vieques is well known for the bioluminescent of the waters..

Went to Culebra last year and stayed on Flamenco beach. Beautiful water and lots of nice beaches to drive to. I would recommend a Jeep for getting around the island. We took the ferry from Fajardo and it was a quick trip.

Culebra is stunning and very chill. There are a couple of old WWII tanks on the far end of Flamenco beach. We packed in our own food so I don't know about restaurants and bars.
My in-laws go to Vieques a lot and really like it there. Nice beaches and wild horses everywhere.
The ferries are unreliable so take the flight if you have time constraints.

Been to both.
Vieques
the mosquito bay, pretty amazing, great experience.
Culebra.
Different type of beach all over island. Sandy, rocky, reef, etc.
Smaller barrier islands that you can kayak to on calm days.
Fly, you will risk a day or getting there at all if you take ferry.
On main island, El Yunque and Pork Highway are good adventure items.

Vieques was beautiful.
The ferry was miserable.

I decided to do 2 days in Vieques and 1 full day on the main island. I'm hoping to check out El Yunque and the San Sebastian Street Festival. I may only have time to pull one of those off though.

Luquillo Beach is not far from El Yunque, and is very nice. I lived in Ceiba for 4 years growing up.
