Drive from Ft. Worth to Austin tonight SUCKED! Didn't think to look at the radar and drove in pouring rain from Downtown FTW all the way to Round Rock.

Happy to be back at the house.

I moved my flight from Sunday morning to Saturday night at MSY.

Thankfully I had two things going for me: 1) I padded my arrival there because I was driving in from distance with a rental car and 2) I could skip the security line because I had a kid in a stroller.

Why?

BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE PRECHECK OR CLEAR OPEN apparently because they didn't have enough people to man security.

Of course I get a precheck placard and then some TSA agent asks me "Did I read it" Of course I fricking didn't. So of course they power trip on that. And the only benefit I got was to keep my shoes on, which then was a cluster because I don't pack for normal security so I'm pulling out iPads, work laptop, and shite.

Felt bad for people that took forever to get through the line. It wasn't even busy, the staffing caused issues by itself. I barely noticed that stroller sign that saved us.

All I know is getting back into NYC last night was hell on earth. Not that it's much better normally though.
