Will be in California with my girl, 3rd week of October
Will be in Orange County area on Sun and Mon. Disneyland on Tues and Wed, with plans to drive to San Diego on Wed evening, and spending Thurs and Fri in San Diego. Driving back to OC on Saturday to catch our flight home.
Any suggestions for highlights or must see/do?
TIA

I did exactly what you did but with my wife and daughter. Skip the other stuff and spend the whole week in San Diego

This.
If you stay in Del Mar, north of SD, you can easily see all you want to.

Catch that zoo. It’s great.

Is your girl an actual child or an adult woman? If an adult, one day in Disney will be more than enough. Legoland is a kid place too. Down in SD, visit the beach in La Jolla. See the sea lions and cliffs, kayak, maybe head over to Torrey Pines for a hike, and have dinner at Piatti or Roy’s (both delicious). Be sure to walk around Balboa (before or after the zoo). The Art Museum is worth a visit, the other museums you can take a pass on, but check out the cactus and rose gardens. If you guys are younger, be sure to enjoy a day in Mission Beach- bike a bit, then have a cold one right by the sand.
You could also do a day in Palm Springs- good resorts, take the cable car then hike around the top, and cap off the day at one of the casinos.

I always enjoy a day on Catalina... rent a golf cart and cover the majority of the island... also the ferry ride to and from is enjoyable
