Come through Richmond and Oakland...bay bridge or all the way down to the San Mateo bridge. Good luck

I would get an early start and go however Google maps directed me. A trip here crossing multiple bridges can be a coin flip. The GG says it's going to have 2 lanes open, but once you're that far, you're committed. The good thing for you is the hours you'll be driving.

I would either take 580 bridge to Richmond and then take 80/880 to San Mateo bridge, or go to Vallejo and hop on 80 from there. Either way I would avoid San Francisco and take 880 through the east bay to the San mateo bridge.
